Waiting for a bolt action .22 with a threaded barrel to pop up.

I bought a Ruger 22 bolt action three years ago and very much regret not getting a threaded barrel. I didn’t own a suppressor at the time. It’d be a lot of fun to plink with and no worries about jamming with the subsonic rounds.

I just bought a threaded 10/22 and before it even arrives, I'm already pricing out a bolt action threaded 22 rifle

I have a Ruger precision .22 that I really like a lot. Very accurate little gun. Only drawback is the weight. Pretty heavy.

Wouldn’t mind having a CZ though.

And have a few 10/22 pattern rifles. One Ruger and 2 Brownells BRNs. I put a Volquartsen carbon barrel on one and it’s a tack driver.

Bolt action is the way to go. I like to shoot the really anemic 22 subsonic rounds bc they're whisper quiet, but they can’t cycle a semiautomatic. Plus a bolt action 22 is already relatively quiet. I don’t even use earplugs with mine, but it’s still too loud for my suburban backyard.

I really like the adjustable stock on the Ruger Precision. The gun looks like absolute shite but I don't care about that. I see the trigger is improved

I bought the BX trigger for the LVT so I hope that helps the accuracy. I'm a huge Ruger homer so that very well might be my next 22.

ETA: is the barrel that comes on the RPR that much better?

I built this .22 AR SBR about 10 years ago. Has a CMMG 4.5” barrel with a Silco Spectre II can. I can shoot standard velocity CCI out of it subsonic with the short barrel and it cycles great. Put a MCX folding stock on it when they had some blend go on sale. It’s a squirrel killing machine in my backyard. I put it in my bass boat sometimes to kill snakes with at my lake. Freedom is fantastic!

It’s good but the volquartsen barrel is better.

I have a couple of BX triggers. They’re so much better than stock.

PSA

I bought a ruger 10/22 threaded barrel with the front sight post. When my otter creek lab titanium 22 came in I threw it in on there and took a few shots with cci standard velocity and after inspecting it looked like there was too much lead.

Turns out the suppressor was misaligned when it’s tightened down and caused it to just barely skim the endcap with the bullet.

The front sight post dovetail protrudes ever so slightly and when you tighten it down it will cause the suppressor to get misaligned.

10 mins of removing the dovetails and filing away until it no longer protruded and it’s all fixed.

I sent a email with some pics to make sure the suppressor was good and they said all looked good. He used one of my pics to make an announcement on his insta.

Man which suppressor you running because my rig I just mentioned with standard velocity cci even in the 18.5” barrel is absolutely quite enough for my suburban backyard.

I have a Banish from silencer central. I’m happy with it, but on my pistol it needs to be subsonic to be quiet enough for my Katy neighborhood. On a rifle I bet standard velocity would be fine. Rifle always seemed much quieter. I just don’t have a threaded barrel on a rifle.

When I say standard velocity I mean the box labeled standard velocity that they advertise at 1070 fps.

Cci standard velocity is for sure subsonic on pistols. It’s subsonic out of my 18.5” barrel. Granted just barely. My garmin measured it at 1080 and speed of sound is 1100fps at sea level.

I haven’t had much experience with the suppressor yet to really see how many of them end up cracking the barrier in a box of 50 since it’s close enough that I’m sure a a few will.

I can understand that comment on a pistol though. The sound difference between a pistol and rifle 22 is kinda dramatic. And the subsonic loadings on pistols help mitigate sound since there’s not as much sunburnt powder exploding in the can. Pistols are still quiet but not nearly as so when compared to rifles so long as the bullet stays subsonic.

I am waiting in the silencershop special 3” ruger 22/45 to see how this suppressor does on it since this suppressor is supposed to be optimized for high pressure short barrels of pistols.

This isn't a "deal" as you can get it for about $40 cheaper when they're in stock elsewhere but this thing is fine as wine minus the recoil pad

I have a couple Tisas pistols and they've been good to me. For that price, I'd try it and find out.

That's tempting. I think I'm still going with a Nexus Scorpion, but still.

Bought one of these over the weekend. I believe $25 of the sale is going to GOA to help with the NFA court case.

I think I read somewhere only 9,999 were made:
