Hell, I miss enough with the light modified. If the bird is 40+ yards out, I ain’t shooting.

My reply wasnt too clear...
My go to load for big ducks 3 inch 3s 1500 fps. Find the choke that patterns well ... probably a mod.
Geese .... 3 inch BBs 1500 fps. Mod early in yr than light full. I am shooting canadas so they are bigger and have lots of feathers in winter.

Vinci w. Patternmaster Code Black and Boss 2-3/4 #5.

Good luck finding shells. I can't wait to see the fighting on facebook's Louisiana Duck Hunters about the shell shortage.

I shoot TSS 3.5 inch 4s out of a XXXF choke

I shoot 3.5" because they don't make 4"s.

Yeh I get it, I'm not anti upgrading chokes or anything. That was my location dependent thing. Where I grew up hunting we usually got close shots, but if I was hunting a big rice field or real open marsh I would consider upgrading the choke. My main point was get a feel of whatever you are shooting before hand. And a 28" barrel helps regardless lol.

I run a light modified Carlson with #2 Drylocks in my Stoeger 3020. I tend to use a wider variety of shells & factory chokes in my A400.
