With this springlike weather, I have an urge to put out a feeder. Any hummingbirds yet?

Not yet, but it won't be long at all. My earliest record for my house is March 4. eBird shows a few are showing up now on the Gulf coast, but the numbers are very low still.

I have had a Chuck-will's Widow calling for the last few nights, that's usually my first migrant. We have several reports of Northern Parula in our area, also an early migrant. Carpenter bees are everywhere. Spring is definitely starting to fire up.

Not yet. But it won’t be long. Usually start seeing them when the Bradford Pears start blooming.

In Houston I saw something that mentioned the first 2 weeks of March. So i'm guessing end of March for Mississippi

Do hummingbirds feed from wildflowers? I saw my first few wildflowers of the year yesterday.

Paper whites are the first to pop up. Then daffodils. Then tulips.
Spring is coming.

We had a rufous that stayed all winter- even during the freeze. I was warming up nectar so he could eat

I've had a wintering hummingbird this season. I usually have 1 or 2. Saw it yesterday so it'sstillaround. I put food out year round. I had another show up before and during the freeze. I live in Baton Rouge/Central.

I am in NW LA and am putting mine out this weekend. I also picked up a few flowers over the weekend that were well ahead of my seedlings to put out for hummingbirds.
