Anyone ever use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean gun parts?

Thinking about buying one to clean pistols. Just wondering how well they work.

I have never done it personally, but my LGS does a dove season cleaning special that features this among other things. Every few years I’ll bring in a gun or two for this and they come back looking damn nice.

I have one but have not used it to clean a gun but have cleaned brass and silencers.
I’ve also used it to clean my wife’s jewelry
Mine is the RCBS
Works great.

Same as bbvdd, I use it to clean brass and rim fire suppressor. Can’t see why it wouldn’t clean pistol parts as well. I would make sure I dried them well and sprayed them with gun oil after though. I have a cheap one from harbor freight.

I have one and it works great for me. Cleans gun parts and reel parts like a champ

Steel parts, great. It probably won't get them factory clean, but it'll get them functionally clean. You'll have to make sure the parts are dried and oiled before you put everything back together, but they'll be clean enough.
Be very careful putting aluminum or titanium parts in them. The cleaner can pit the hell out of them.
