This. I was deadset on an A300, went to a gun store to buy one and decided to just shoulder a few other models first. I’m not a picky dude but the A300 just didn’t feel/fit me quite right. After toying around with a couple other guns I found the SX3 really fit me well, and I knew it was well reviewed in terms of performance. So I bought the SX3 and haven’t looked back. It’s been a great gun for me so far but the real difference is that it just feels right and aims easily when I shoulder it.

Shoulder them in the store. Certainly not as good as actually shooting them, but I have been able to quickly knock a few off the list as soon as I put it to my shoulder.

Aim it at the deer head on the wall 274836274 times really fast and act like you're shooting ducks in the store. Say it just doesnt feel quite right. Pick up more expensive gun and repeat. Repeat until at very tippy top of budget and purchase. Brag about how well gun fits.

Agree, everyone has a different length of pull, comb height and a certain cast they like. I'm short and stocky. High end shotguns have not and are not made with me in mind. Its a blessing and a curse. Id love to have a Benelli, Beretta type gun. They don't "throw up, fit, and balance" well for me. It would take another $400 in mods for it to be right. I've learned a shorter barrel even as short as 24" in a lesser model gun has been beneficial to my shot picture and use ability. I said all that to say this. Go to the store and try every model on a back wall target of some sort. throw them all up from different positions. If its heavy on the front hand it isn't balanced well for you. If it catches heavy on the shoulder it isn't the right gun. It should be seamless and smooth up to the cheek. If you have to significantly tilt your head into the gun for line of sight that's not your gun. Test test test.

walk into gun store and ask the guy if you can see and shoulder their gun on the shelf.
Pretty easy.
When I'm looking, I will shoulder the gun with my eyes closed. After it's shouldered and my head down on the stock, open my eyes and see if I'm lined up (sight picture). I'll do that several times.

eh, testing fit which is the most important.

Stoeger M3000 or M3500 depending on if you want to shoot 3" or 3.5" shells. I have had the M3000 for 2 years now and have not had one problem with it. Just like any other gun, make sure you clean it regularly. I hunt over brackish water, so it gets cleaned pretty much after every hunt.
