This but, If you're hunting in woods I recommend using your rifle depending where you hunt. Public land I'd grab the binoculars. If it's a good buck, he's not posing
This can’t be stressed enough even on private land if it’s a deer you should be going to the gun and watching it cus if it’s a buck once you see it that may have been your only chance and if it’s a doe and a buck is behind her once again you have one chance.
Binos are for watching deer you have decided you are not going to shoot or checking out that “spot” that you think may be a deer but need to look at close to see it’s a white piece of ribbon fluttering in the breeze.
To the op 10x is pretty much the all around go to bino, if I was buying for just a lil bit more step up to the diamondbacks I have looked through them and they are very nice for the price point and if not staying in them for hours on end you will never really notice the lesser quality from top alpha glass.

8x42
I’ve had two pairs of Vortex Diamondbacks. I had to use the warranty (which is a great warranty) twice.
My next pair will not be Vortex. I’ve owned a mess of Leopold glass over the years and never used a warranty on any of them.

Meopta optika are awesome binos in that price range. Their higher end glass are as good as it gets.
Company has long of history of making excellent optics. Czech company they made glass for Zeis for many decades.
They are heavier that others but smooth and accurate focus

You need to answer how you intend to use binoculars before deciding on a type and how steady you are.
Increasing magnification also increases wobble.
If walking through the woods and using them handheld, 8X42 is the most commonly selected magnification with good field of view. These are my choice for birding and I used them for deer hunting because I had them.
If you are going to be sitting is a stand and use the side wall as a prop, 10X may be good.
If you are wanting to set up a tripod, then 12X might be good.
I suggest trying some from friends in actual woods since the store do not tell you anything about light gathering or real world situations like you would find in woods.
We had good experiences with Nikons, but there are many companies making good binoculars today.
Also consider warranty.

Same. I’ve been pleased with them, good clarity and no fogging, and reasonably compact. I got some sort of deal at Cabela’s a couple of years ago buying those and a range finder at the same time.
