The casings would fail to eject about every other shot. Anyone else have problems with these bullets?
Give us a little more information. Is ejection erratic? Is the slide velocity significantly reduced on every shot? Usually you can tell if it's a power issue or a lubrication issue if ejection is really weak. Then change ammo or put a little oil on the gun and things speed up.

I've put 600 rounds of blazer brass 115 grain through my Canik and have not had a malfunction.

I reload and picked up some magtech on time. There is a shoulder on the inside of the shell with thicker brass so it won't hold much powder.
Never reload stepped 9mm brass. The brass can weaken at the step and if it separates in your chamber, it's a PITA to get out. Plus, as you said, it doesn't hold as much powder and you run the risk of compressing the load. The biggest offenders of stepped brass are FM (Freedom Munitions), Ammoload and IMT. Maxxtech is a different kind of demon that has a shelf made into the brass for seating depth. Great for setback if you want to use their AOL measurements. Throw it all away!
