They are backordered everywhere, how long have you been waiting?

how the hell does this work?
the whole point of the eForms website is to upload digital documents (.pdfs, .jpgs, and .efts). are you mailing these fingerprint cards in to the ATF office?
for those of you that don't know, you're local UPS Store can take your digital fingerprints and email them to you so you always have them.

Schedule an appointment with a participating UPS Store through PrintScan
once you have your digital prints, you'll always have them. luckily, my local gun store had a scanner so it was a breeze. i don't even think a Silencer Shop kiosk will give you your prints.
i was back home in Alabama last year visiting a range with a buddy that had a kiosk. i asked if SS would email me a copy of my prints, and he looked at me like i was retarded and asked, "what do you need those for?"
never touched a kiosk again.
the guys at my LGS are pretty great. they have an inventory of stuff that i can actually handle and look at. if they don't have it, they check with their distributors. if they can get it, it's usually a week wait to come in. once it arrives, the eForms process starts.
i asked them about how they handle trusts and they said it usually takes an hour because some people don't come prepared. the fill out the RP forms in store and if they frick up, they have to reprint a blank one and start over. then they have to scan all the documents again.
i walked in with a flash drive and filled out a Form 4 on 2/14 for an RC2. took 10-15 minutes. they asked me to be a consultant on trusts.
SS Form 1 Service - $50
that's a rip off. get your own digital prints done, people!!!
also, i bet your local PD will scan your prints for you. you're already sending them the CLEO forms or you're supposed to anyway.

Really want a JL for a 308 bolt gun but damn they are expensive. I’m not sure they would be worth the extra cost. Any thoughts?

bought 2 suppressors summer '23 from Silencer Shop
Weren't wait times still quite long then? Seems like they sped up early 2024.
Good point. Just looked at my emails to clarify the dates. I bought the 2 suppressors from SS early January 2024 and they were certified April 2024.

Finchmeister08, Thx for a lot of good info. I didn't know the UPS did digital prints. Unfortunately, my closest UPS store is a one hour drive to Bossier City.
1.29.25, Bought suppressor online from Joe Bob's Outdoors.
2.3.25, Suppressor shipped to LGS.
2.7.25, LGS submitted Form 4 application via eForm and I mailed paper prints.
2.19.25, eForm submission approved.
My LGS said Silencer Shop views the info from their kiosks as their property and would not release it to him. He was told a set up for digital prints independent from SS would cost $5K.

I was a little reticent w/ paper prints, but he said he's only had problems w/ prints twice in 5 years (one was an elderly man w/ arthritis could couldn't roll finger tips well. The other was a young man who didn't take instructions well). I'm not sure if my local PD will scan prints and copy prints, but I'll check. About 10 years ago when I made my initial application for LA concealed carry, the local PD did not do digital prints and referred me to a parish detention center 45 min away. The detention center did the digital prints, but the tech would not sign my passport photo for the application. I didn't have the guidelines w/ me at the time. When I got home, I found out I was right. Went back the next week, and she made me wait 45 min before signing the photo. My timeline w/ LGS:

I just looked at PrintScan website in one of your links. Which service would you recommend, the "Fingerprint Cards" option? Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to search for closest participating office w/o pre-enrolling.

Me and a friend just got our emails on the polonium.after two months. Took way less time than i thought with it being backordered. Hope its ready to pick up next week.

I ended up going with a CGS Hyperion for my 6.5 and a Otter Creek Labs Polonium K for my 556. Less than two weeks from starting the process to having them in my hands, stamps came in Friday (7 days).

i'm just now seeing this. if you don't want to drive the hour, the card option is really your only option if you don't have a local gun store that has their own fingerprint scanner. but it will take longer cause you're at the mercy of the postal service... which isn't great right now.
i'd personally drive the hour. get it done instantly instead of having to wait, but i'm a very impatient person and need instant gratification.
