Sure it's not just pre-rut?

Yeah it could just be pre-rut. It is the time when I have seen and killed the most bucks so I have always assumed that this was our rut period. Could be wrong though.

Pre-rut is actually your best chance of seeing a good buck. They are up roaming and checking it out, but haven't locked on yet, at least most of the time. It's usually our first week of rifle season, which is thanksgiving week. Our rut is typically early to mid december...

But i corrected him and told him i didnt bow hunt but i was ready for Nov. 20th (modern firearm season in Area 1). I'll update yall around then.

Yeah you are probably right. I have just always considered it the rut because it is when I see the most sign and when I feel like I have the best chance to kill one.

Then if he asks how you do it, just say, " well we drive real fast and turn to the left". Hunting and Nascar go hand in hand

Oh, FWIW I don't like Nascar at all

Do you know how to skin/clean a deer? That's a big one to know and one that is really only learned by doing it.

Wouldn't it have been a whole lot easier just to come up with some excuse as to why you couldn't go with him? If I knew I had bullshat this guy for weeks... the last thing I'd do is actually go hunting with him.

One time I told someone I played the guitar. He went to his car and got his out of his trunk and proceeded to try and talk me into playing. I told him I was superstitious and didn't like playing other peoples' guitars.

I don't think he really needed a knight, but if that's how you get your jollies, so be it.

I really don't care what you think.
