RULE #1: Make DAMN SURE you can see what you are shooting and have POSITIVELY identified it as a proper target.

ei: do not kill your friend by accident as he is coming to get you out the stand.

Keep it on the first page. Mike told me in another thread that he was ready and going this weekend.

I talked to my buddy yesterday. he said he is going to put me in a box stand looking over a 20 ac food plot (oats?). he said he has been hunting it almost every evening and has seen between 3-7 does everytime. he said most of my shots will be under 300 yards.

I'm ready. I've read a lot and watched a lot of videos. I'm confident in cleaning the deer and holding conversation.

My only concern is I've only shot my gun out to 100 yards. if it's sighted in a 100 yards how much will a 270 drop at 200 and 300 yards?

Aim about 2.5 inches high at 200 yards and about 10 inches high at 300. 300 yards is almost out of range for a .270.

Doubtful . . . if square, the sides would be 312 yards.

For the most part, yes, most are a 1/4 to 1/2 acre. But some people do plant 20+ acre plots of beans/peas, alfalfa, etc...

Yes lots of people pant oats, wheat, peas, rye grass, clover, turnip, rape, chickory, and a bunch of other shite.

It's probably a 20 acre field with a food plot in it.

Can't wait to hear more about this. Please make sure to take pictures if you shoot something/someone.
