This board will obviously have different tendencies. I personally do carry a mini grip on me when I can. I have run into issues with getting into stadiums and flying and such. I usually try to hide them in my shoes or hat.

I used to all the time, but lost one at TSA because I was stupid and forgot I had it on me. Kind of just stopped.

I don't either. I just keep one in my truck.
But I can see why guys that work in the field would need one. And some guys are really attached to their knives. Every time I would host the morning safety meeting and tell all the guys to go put their knives in the truck, those guys would get pissed off at me.

I read through that thread this morning and was appalled by the responses. WTF is this country coming to that folks think you are dangerous if you carry a pocket knife.

Yeah I have a heavy arse leatherman in my center console but it stays there. I've got every tool I could ever need at work, so a knife doesn't make it with me.

And it's not because I feel I need it to protect myself. Sure, I feel it would give me a slight upper hand if someone was trying to beat me with his bare hands. But I mostly carry it for utility. I have used it so many times for things I didn't even think about.
I carry it more for convenience than protection. Hell, I'm cutting up an apple with it on my desk as a late breakfast

I carry one just about every day. Never know when you'll need a knife.

You have to remember that the Rant is full of 18 year old kids that were raised in the suburbs and never worked a day in their lives
