From the research I have done, there is not much difference between front or rear wheel mounts, in terms of performance. Now in terms of maintenance, i.e. a flat tire, the front mount is much easier to deal with than the gears and chain you may have with a rear mounted motor. For best overall performance the mid-mount systems are the very best, but they require a little more work to install, and some adjustments to the front Derailleur. There are lots of videos on YouTube on how to do the conversions.
I present yet another upvote.
Take the rest of the day off.

Bought my Himiway around this time last yr. Didn’t receive it until July. Have added a few accessories to it. Really enjoyed it for my public land hunting in South MS. It does everything I need it to do. My only regret is not getting a step thru model. When I have my climber on the rear rack, it’s difficult getting my foot over. What I ended up doing is always finding a stump or small log of some sort to stand on to make it a little easier when getting on the bike. I’m 6ft, 230lbs.
Check out Area 13 ebikes(formerly Bolton ebikes) as they sell quite a few different makes/models. He also has a ton of Youtube videos as well.

How do you think these bikes would handle a beach? I pedal
my bike to a really good fishing hole but it is a motherfricker pulling a wagon. Damn near died on my first trip.

As long as it's a fat tire ebike, I think it would handle it fine. And again, a step thru model would make it easier getting on and off.

I am ordering a biktrix Juggernaut Duo Step Through. i'm 6'2 215 and prefer the step through. I like the duo for the 2nd battery option and the saddlebags seem heavier duty than the rambo's. Ive ridden both and the biktrix is geared lower so it has more torque to get up the hills where i hunt easier. The only downfall is that if i want the a front rack i have to go aftermarket.

Ebikes are like rifles everyone will eventually adapt to their own needs. I have upgraded from a fat tire regular bike to a full blown custom E-trike. expensive yes but i have my reasons. in fact if someone is a do it yourselfer my Framed Minnesota 2.0 with 26" fat tires and an extra set of 29" skinnys is available. really cheap. the first link is the Framed Minnesota the second pic was my hunting setup, the second link is my current trike and i use the same trailer setup as before. it works wonderfully within its limits.

What kind of regulations are there in MS for these? Can you ride them anywhere or do they treat them like a four wheeler? I hunt NF, NWR, and WMAs in MS.

In no easy terms, it depends. I believe that it is legal to ride an e-bike in state owned WMA's but some of MS's WMAs are actually owned by the National Forestry so they kick that can to them. When I would come out of the woods this year with my e-bike, I'd stop about 100yds of my truck and remove the battery. If I were to be stopped, I'm using it as a normal bike. Not sure how that would fly in court but they'd have to prove I was riding a motorized vehicle.

Bumping this thread as I'm looking to purchase one this summer. Any advice on any newer models?

Nice, yeah I’m looking for a cruiser but something I can hit the beach on too.

Guess it depends on your budget. The high dollar Rambo, QuietKat, Bakcou’s of the world have nice bikes they are very proud of. But you can find something much cheaper in a Rad Rover, Himiway, Aventon, or at Area 13. I’ve read good things about Aventon. I think most of these use the same or similar components so it’s just a matter of finding a sale or maybe a better battery.

I went with Leise Motors.
There are large scale manufacturers and a few custom craft shops. You get standardized packages from the big companies. The custom shops make how you want it.
You pay more for the small shop but they really put the extras and are really responsive.
I liked what these guys built.
1000 watts
36mph
35-40 Mile range
This thing is a beast.
