After your wife gets comfortable you're not gonna carry?

My wife (no pics) is petite and strong but can't rack the slide in my Dagger (G19 clone). Her teacher had her try the Shield EZ .380, I was skeptical at first but it's a neat little gun. She thinks it's loud and has lots of kick but I think it's very smooth and accurate. It's also small but not too small.

If you're gonna get another gun for yourself I'd check out the Daggers if you're on a budget, I'm very happy with mine. I've been thinking about getting a subcompact and the ones I'm most interested in are the Micro Dagger, G43x, Shield, and the Canik Mete.

Similar situation, wife wanted something for home defense when I travel for work. We shot a bunch of guns and looked at a lot more. She settled on the Walther PDP-F. I won’t go into all the details you can easily look up. Check it out.

Yeah, not everybody lives in Baton Rouge.

Keeping a gun in a truck/car is a bit of added risk, just like not having an alarm system on your house is a bit of added risk. That risk won't be the same for everybody.

If it’s ultimately going to be your wife’s pistol, take her shopping and have HER pick out what feels good in her hand.

It’s substantially easier to teach someone to shoot what fits them vs. force something like a square peg in a round hole.

Exactly. Also, some posters in this thread making blanket statements about keeping a firearm in a vehicle are just as stupid as those who keep them in an unlocked glovebox or loose under the seat. There are ways of securing a firearm in a vehicle that would take an act of Congress to steal.

Colt Detective Special. It has been around for almost 100 years. It is easily concealed and has good stopping power with a six shot capacity.

Console Vaults are available for Louisiana’s $500 tax credit for gun storage. If you are going to leave it in your car…. Please get one of these. It’s essentially free

I have a different brand that has since gone out of business and love mine.

get a gun vault for your truck if you are determined to let it say in your vehicle. Don’t keep in your console and think it’s safe.

And for God's sake, don't put any 2A or gun manufacturer decals on your truck. It's just advertising to the criminals "Break glass for free gun"

I like the shield 9 mm by SW. Women shoot better with it because it has a heavier slide than the Glock 43, thus more accurate for them as there is less recoil.
