Hopefully the cold will keep some of the Lake Decade armada at home

There was at least 30 boats in there last Saturday when it was windy, cold, and rainy. Cold ain't nothin'.

I'm contemplating making a run to Decade on Sunday, though.

I love fishing in the cold weather! Shell Beach / hopedale have some great winter fishing. If the water and temps continue to drop, the Shell Beach Redfish slaughter will turn on too. Try Stump, Muscle, Hopedale Lagoon, Lake Ameda, Lake Robin.

We'll be at 210 as usual. I think they closed the weirs for duck season. I'll have to ask someone in the know when it reopens for fishing.

I love fishing in Point Au Chen in the winter.
Right on Bayou Blue.
where bayou blue empties in to the sulphur mine the redfish go ape shite daily. and the trout are laying on the bottom waiting for something to swim right to them. you almost have to dead stick your bait to move it slow enough for them. last january water temps were around 45 in the mine and still caught fish. In february you can find trout in 25-30 ft of water that has strong current.

Duck season is closed but I don't know if they open them between splits

Unfortunately too far right now. I'm on the northshore with no wheels for a couple of more weeks.

I fished til about 11am saturday. Wind became a gale. Fishing the middle of the lake was rough as hell.

20-25 MPH where I fish is perfect for drifting.

High pressure is the BIG reason why fishing is out of the question for me this weekend.

Maybe germans, but I didn't read whole thread.

Front passed Tuesday I believe. 3 days after a front is fine to fish.
We catch on Blue Bird days too because we are picking the trout up from the bottom.
I guess we will see because I'm going!

I have some on my phone just haven't had time to download the app to send them here

I have a camera too, need to check the battery. I bought it when we used to fish Toledo a lot. I need to check on that too.

I ain't knocking you for going. I've fished in colder conditions because I had nothing better to do. No luck, but worth it.

I'm just saying the pressure appears to be staying high for the weekend plus cold plus good hunting conditions makes me go hunting this time.

Good luck.

I was pretty jealous late this afternoon coming over 210 bridge, 1 boat, 1 fisherman and dozen or so birds and water was like glass. Was going to take off, son got in from LSU last night but can't get out of meeting at work. If I don't chase the beagles and rabbits this weekend boat will probably have to get wet.

high pressure doesn't keep fish from biting its a myth.

They still bite, just harder to catch and they hang close to cover.
