Cool story.

I don't know why so many here are shocked that the guy wasn't killed instantly especially with all the hunters.

People don't die like in the movies. How many hunters here have shot a deer with a high powered rifle making a vital kill shot only to have it run off a considerable distance.

This really should be forwarded to the NRA.

And again, people give handguns waaaayyyy too much credit for being "powerful".

Come on now, you know damn well if he actually hit him center mass (heart, lung, major vessels, liver, spleen) with 6 rounds of 40 cal (even if they passed right trhough) the guy should be deader than a door nail.

Ambulance must have been waiting in the parking lot.

Not saying it should have been instant but you shot a dude 6 times center mass and he stays alive long enough for the medics to get there and them make it to the hospital with him still alive.

You gotta either bleed em out or blow em away.

Handguns suck major arse for killing things.

Never hit heart or both lungs and had an animal live longer than 4-5 min. Even if we quadruple that he would barley be getting to the ED by then and would still need to fix the 6 gaping holes in his heart and lungs.

Hell if the aorta was hit he dies in 90 seconds or less.

The mortality rates for aortic dissection are staggering even if you are on the operating table when it dissects. If you are out of the hospital at the time death is nearly certain.

Did anybody click on the link? Horribly written piece. I'm glad to see that our beloved Tribune is not the only paper hiring people from the lower 10% of the Journalism school graduates.

Texas Tiger

I have seen it many times where the thug is full if holes in vital areas and they just don't die. They'll will be mad and cursing.

Now me. I would probably bleed out from my little toe being grazed.

no doubt there are more knowledgeable people on this subject than me. just hard to wrap my head around.

And we don't know all the details of the story hell maybe the guy shot him thru the bedroom door..

Hopefully he takes a dirt nap and we don't end up supporting him for the next 60 years.

OP, let me get this straight, your buddy opens the door only to be met with a badguy holding a gun to his head, correct? Then the badguy pointing the gun at your buddy watches him retrieve his firarm and unload a mag into him while he does nothing?

I'm confused. Why would this bad just stand there and not pull the trigger once?

Wouldn't have made it that far in my house. Just get it over with, drink a brewski, and go get your story straight before calling the cops. Also, tell the broads to GTFO. That just leaves him room to tell his side of the story

Too many loose ends IMHO. Watch him get slapped with a lawsuit in a month. It'll be on the news then, and we'll see who they portray as the bad guy

No way he took six center mass and lived. Sorry.

He may have taken six to the torso and lived. But you don't survive six hits center mass from a .40.

And yeah, how the hell does he go from staring at a gun to his face, to armed and shooting the guy without any fire coming back at him?
