Hard to believe that guy took multiple .45's COM and continued to attack and still took a moment to quit after getting popped point blank in the head.
You've gotta blow a suped up dope head's CNS out the other side to get an instant stop. He might stop in 2 or 3 seconds if you shoot his chest all up, but that's plenty of time for him to stab you, shoot you, or some other nastyness.

Very hard to believe he could survive those hits. His family denied performing an autopsy but it was believed he was major on the juice

Well no unless you're wild bill or something.
Best chance for a one shot instant shutdown IMO is getting very lucky and having your first shot make it to his spine. Lots and lots of emphasis on luck.
I'm no self defense expert though. I've just shot lots of stuff.

Thanks for sharing. Maybe it's been mentioned already but I'm not reading 7 pages, but where are all the 9mm haters that say "9mm doesn't have enough knock down power. You should shoot a .40 cal."?

I'm one to think that the ammunition is the most important aspect when using a firearm for defense. Can't go cheap on the stuff
