Thank you for the ID!

Bonus pic of a nice mule deer for ya.

Both animals found on the public golf course in Bend.

Got a chance to photograph a great horned owl and an owlet on Saturday in Gulf Breeze. The babies are so weird looking, almost looks like they are wearing a fur suit, but they are still cute.

The line under the GHO's beak makes it look freaky in this photo

Great photos!

Was driving down the road awhile back and a barred owl flew up from the ditch and landed in a tree by the road. Turned around and drove back by and got a quick picture with my cell phone.

We had a pair that was around our neighborhood using our big water oak as and one in our neighborhood park as perch/nest trees. Both trees went down in 2019 and 2020.

There were always ripped up cat carcasses in crazy spots - people thought it was a sick person or coyotes doing it - but I saw the owls grab a few and saw them eating them several times. even had one on my fence with a cat small enough it could fly off with in. I told several of the cat people this, it's ironic when their cats kill wildlife from lizards, frogs birds, snakes and squirrels it's JUST NATURE... but oh man when a coyote of raptor does it......

that shite drives me crazy. We have a full blown cat colony now, I'll be walking my dog in the morning and have to wait on cats to finish fricking in the street. I've trapped a few and brought them to the shelter. Wish some owls would get after them.

Owls can supposedly rotate their head 270 degrees for vision. Pretty awesome if true.
