Perp would probably be thinking "white boyz be crazy" they gonna shoot themselves, this is f'n set up.

Perp bolts. Sounds like a full proof plan.

most likely, Academy is your best bet for having that stuff at a decent price

Scratch the 380 off your list. Scratch any subcompact off your list. Scratch snubbies off your list unless you plan on her carrying it in her purse. Full size revolver in 357 FTW. Load her some 38's in that bad boy. Whatever you get, you and that chick get out and shoot. Want to be proficient with it if you or her ever need it.

No. What you really need is a home invasion PLAN!
It's great and all to have these awesome weapons that may come to your aid, but the main goal should be to get the hell out of the house, for both of you.

You don't want to be in this situation and have never talked about it.

1.) Set up a rally point outside of the house, and know how to get to it from every room.

2.) Realize the stuff in the house is just stuff. You can buy more. No need to go all batman on the perp and risk getting shot. You can't buy new lives.

3.) If you do get a HD weapon, practice. It may save your life, but it may also escalate the situation and get you shot if you don't know how to use it.

I pray that you never have to face this situaiton, but if you do, I hope that you are prepared.

not true - 20ga Mav 88 holds 5 rounds, can get a short (18") barrel and if it doesnt have a pistol grip, you can get one for ~30 bucks. What else do you need?

I said a little harder, not impossible. Buying a shotgun and then having to find a new barrel for it and install it I think would qualify as "a little harder".

home invasion PLAN!

1. See intruder
2. Pick up weapon
3. Fired weapon
4. Stand over body whilst calling 911.

Get a shotgun and a few pistols. Can't have to many around the house. Learn how to shoot and handle them and you will be ok.

Why does every one like the subcompact 380, 9mm, and 38 sp for home defense?

You arent trying to conceal in your house and a large heavier gun has less recoil and muzzle displacement if built well.

The Remington and Mossberg HD models are sold at Academy, reaonably priced. A full sized revovler either .38 or .357 are perfect. Rossi makes some good wheel guns for cheap, also sold at Academy. I have a gun safe full of stuff to ruin a burglars day. My close at hand guns are a remington youth 20ga and a Bersa thunder .380 with extra mags. I'm looking to upgrade the Bersa to a Sig in the near future. My pistol collection is lacking.

I like subs and compacts because I can keep them in the house or out and about. 2 for one.

I do however like 1911s just because.

Because people are strongly influenced by good marketing.

I agree, compacts have no place in the hands of inexperienced female shooters. I think people equate their small hands and build with small guns. It's really a bad idea.

All I can say is you better not break into my house when I'm out of town cause the old lady is a crack shot with the .40 and will pump 4 rounds into you before you can say "pizza delivery". Of course with the .40 one single center mass shot is all she is going to need.

Compacts have a place but I just dont see that being for home protection. I carry an LCP and/or an LCR often though.

I like our .45 better than my .38. I find the kick isn't that much different. 230 grain hollow point .45 = perp with a hole the size of a basketball. That's what you get for coming into my house uninvited, bitch!

I have seen a lot of women at the shooting range with .40's.

getting shot with a compact vs a full size is like getting shot by a glock vs a colt.

Kidding of course, I know what yall mean by the size, recoil, and control

These are the obvious. The one that no one thinks about is lack of hand strength and their ability to load/clear the weapon.
