Nice deer! Congratulations!
It amazes me that all bucks aren’t blind. To break off those tines like that takes an incredible amount of force. As much as deer push around on each other you would think a lot of eyes would get damaged.

Sometimes forget how big those midwestern bucks are. And he had been giving that rack a workout. Nice going!

Side story..
I made up 4 new arrows this summer. Traditionally I number them to keep track of which is which but I wanted to denote these from the originals. I decided to give the arrows the initials of the members of my family. Myself, my wife, our boy, our dog.
In September, I shot clear over a 300" bull elk at 60 yards. Learned a few hours later that a screw on my sight was loose and the sight housing was hanging low; causing me to shoot high. Anyway, this was the G arrow (wife).
Fast forward to October, I climb up in a tree in central Mississippi and arrow a beautiful doe. She went 100 yards and piled up. B arrow (son) did it's job.
November 7th, P arrow (dog) was nocked. As you read prior, P arrow failed to find it's mark.
Sitting there in the afternoon November 8th, I look down and see G on the fletching.... bad memories of a bull elk running away dance in my head.

He's still working on it. Shot a doe on Tuesday. Had a shooter today but no shot. I believe this morning is his last sit before packing up and heading home.

Man that’s awesome! My sister lives in Southern Illinois, across river from St louis in Edwardsville and I’ve been thinking about going stay with her and try to start looking for public hunting places within range of her. Do you happen to know of any public places around there? Tia.

I don’t talk about specific public land spots that I have hunted, am hunting, or want to hunt.
That being said, Illinois and Missouri have lots of public land opportunities. Get on the maps. Grab a reg book. Get out there. You won’t regret it.
