I was given one as a groomsman gift. I would have never bought it but I love it now that I have it. I cure hams and mix sausage in it.

I find the lawn chair to be more of a head scratcher than the bucket.

A really good one. They figured out rednecks will make a dick measuring contest out of anything imaginable.
I’m an rtic man myself but in hindsight I probably spent the difference in other shite I didn’t need. Now there’s spider cracks around the drain plug and the gasket doesn’t seal quite as well as it used to. I doubt rtic will be much help.
Sometimes you’re not just paying for a little better build quality, you’re paying for QC and warranty. The older I get the more I subscribe to buy once cry once, especially with tools and shite that will piss me off if I’m counting on it to work to get something done.

Just rednecks?

If OP wants another option try Shurhold. They don't come with the rubber bottom though which is a nice feature as pointed out by another poster.
$40 seems high for a bucket but it's way more sturdy than your Home Depot version and will not fly out the truck bed or boa. I use mine enough to justify the $40 spent.

I got mine as a gift last year. Got the bucket, Lid and insert. Used it for teal hunting this season and I loved it! Way more durable than your average bucket! I have also used it as a quick ice chest while dove hunting and it keep ice for a while!

I may be too poor to spend $40 on a bucket but I can afford a toilet and running water at home

I am the same way now. I had a yeti hopper and the zipper broke. Sent a few pics to yeti, mailed back my old one and had the new improved Hopper back at my house in one week.

I % of that market is vendor gifts. The yeti logo looks great to a construction manager, and it is less than $50. Those things go a long way with brownie points.

collects dust better.
my wife bought me one for a birthday gift. I use it so soak wood chunks for smoking. Its a bucket, just heavier like the rest of their overpriced crap.

All the guys at the duck camp have Yeti buckets and they are very functional as a shell bucket/seat.
This, plus I stand on the fricker to get shite in my garage off my top shelf of my storage rack all the time. A regular Lowe's bucket would have broken with my big arse standing on it so it is not a joke.

I bought one (with a lid!) just to rustle the jimmies of soft arse guys like OP.
It does a fantastic job of holding my car washing supplies.

I was standing on my Yeti bucket I got as a gift and dropped the TV remote which just happened to switch the TV to ESPN...

I stole mine... during my wife’s family’s dirty Santa.
Absolutely love it! I bought the $30 lid myself though

Yeti is a scam
Thats makes a ton of money.
I don't really remember why, but I bought a decent amount of Yeti stock when it ipo'ed in 2018 at $16 a share. Today it's worth $46 a share and has gotten up to $51. The stock is up 60% in 12 months.
That goes to show that people spend a lot of money buying Yeti stuff and Wall Street is loving it. What other kind of retail product can you think of that has grown 60% in the past 12 months?
