Awesome i think that’s what i ended up doing, i tried to see on my computer and couldn’t quite remember. Good luck. Also downloading that many zoom levels isn’t really needed. I usually pick one 17-19 of an area and do that. Resolution on map creator is the amount of zoom you get

Aight - after reading this I’m not fooling with it- so that being said, any you guys that want to make some “brownie points”, I can get you my email and we can get together on the side. I want a map that takes in SE LA, to include all of Lake P, Maurepas etc..

As Far as the zoom levels go, you say you only pick one. Does that mean even if you zoom out you will still have a clear picture even though you only downloaded one zoom level? I was thinking I needed each zoom level so it would be clear when zoomed in and out. Keep in mind I haven’t created one of these before so I’m not savvy at how this all works. Haha. If I can make the download process quicker I’m definitely all ears. Took me 2 days to download the tiles and 6 hrs to download the map to create the KML.

Ha yea it may not be as clear when zooming in. But it def isn’t bad when zoomed in. I personally use it for navigation and some what find spots so zooming in tight isn’t as important to me

I like looking for little drains and ditches. That is mainly why I went to zoom 20. I have onother question tho. Will I be able to change the transparency to see the names of bayous, bays and ponds from my base map that’s on my unit already?

this is why people just pay for it. lol

is not as easy as it seems for a first timer. It takes a little patience and some time.

but you're paying for a crappy product.. lol standards maps are horrible. worth it to make your own

fishgetter, the names will show no matter what the gps settings are set to, all my names, waypoints routes etc... all show up thru the imagery

All lowrance pre installed chart data will show through the homemade maps. All waypoitns, buoys depths and channels will show if the map is made via shaded relief settings

In case you're still feeling generous I would really appreciate a copy of those instructions as well. I've watched some of those youtube videos and I think most skip a step or two. Thanks in advance.

Well there’s only one way to not be a first timer! Haha I also like to take guys weekends and go fish different lakes. I like the ability to go create a map for wherever I’m going.

WHODAT or SEAPICKLE do you think max resolution 128 on a map this size is to much?

Ended up getting gun shy and selected zoom 13-20 min resolution 1 max resolution 64. I hope this works, better yet I hope this fits on my card! Anyone have an idea how many GB covering the SE at these levels will be roughly?

i have the entire south la on a 16gb card i can zoom to 500' and out to see the entire state. My map is only 11 GB. You only need to do zoom level 19. Set your resolution 2 - 16. Then do a map for zoom 15 and resolution 36-512. Then edit the final file names so you dont have two of the same named files but its easy.

Thats all yall need to do. Yall are trying to add too much. The guys online who add all of those levels are making a map of a tiny little man made lake or something similar.

this all day! like I said downloading one zoom level and keeping the card data small makes it easier and faster on the unit.

downloading multiple zooms is basically an image on top of an image...its adding too much info that you do not need

well I went through rastor mode and once it said process complete I opened the folder and there were no files in the working directory I specified it to go to. Any ideas? Cant seem to find them anywhere else on the computer either.

if they are truly nowhere then you didnt create any and you uploaded the wrong data. did you do keyhole mode before raster?
