I would really like to know where the ones that hang out on the Eastside of Houston around Anahuac and Winnie go? During teal season they are everywhere in flooded rice which makes it quite tempting to crush them during a teal hunt but luckily they look nothing like a teal so there is no collateral damage. However, they practically disappear after the first cold front, usually in October.

I think they adversely impact wood duck nesting. I know they take over the wood duck boxes in my south LA pond. The ducks we can kill 2 of they kill 3x our limit in Mexico. Happy to kill more of their ducks.

They have not been impacting my neighborhoods wood duck nesting. They don’t seem to like the same nesting box locations here, boxes out in the wide open that don’t much wood duck activity are usually the ones the whistlers move into.

Total a holes to other ducks but nothing is meaner than an Egyptian goose. All geese are terrified of those things.
