Why does it make someone a massive douche to use the correct terminology?
Because everyone:

1. knows what he means, and
2. knows it happens all the time.

The FiveseveN was designed strictly for armor piercing. It sucks as a self defense gun otherwise and would be low on my list unless I had the AP ammo and was defending my self against people in armor. unknownknight, yes I know it can kill someone. I could kill someone with a red rider BB gun with the right shot, but there are better tools for the job. You wouldn't use a wrench to bang a nail into a board. Having said that, I bet they are fun as frick to shoot and I would love to own one.

I see what you're saying but I tend to disagree to a certain extent. Bullet placement IS the key to self-defense. A gun that is extremely accurate, can fire accurately at a high rate of speed (easy trigger) with a large magazine (30 rounds) can be very effective in the hands of someone who knows how to shoot. I get stopping power is very important but it's value can be undermined by lower accuracy and/or less shots fired. Also, SUPPOSEDLY the bullets bounce around like crazy once they hit a solid target (never confirmed this though, so take it for what it is worth).

1911... government model... none of that fancy bullshite. I've never held a pistol that just feels as "comfortable" as a 1911 in my hand. I love the caliber, the weight, the balance, the power... I want to make sweet love to my 1911.

ETA - I'll make sure it's clear and safe before I make love to it... safety first.

Clip has become interchangeable with "magazine" and they aren't the same thing. Clips load magazines and magazines load guns.

If you're loading an M1 garand or SKS you have a clip. If you're loading a Glock or a 1911 you have a magazine.

Not a big deal, but a lot of gun guys notice it. I had it pointed out to me when was a kid and it just always stuck.

I can understand someone getting peeved by the missuse of terms. I work in the mental health field and people often use the terms Schizophrenia and Multiple Personality D/O (now called DID) interchangeably. They are two very different disorders and it bothers me when misinformed people use the terms incorrectly. However I probably wouldn't bother trying to explain it to them. However, I appreciate the distinction between clips and mags b/c I grew up with shotguns and and a 30-30 so I didn't know the difference. So I actually learned something on the OB!
