Its the State dog of South Carolina and a popular breed here. Maybe ask some USC folks.

Mine is a good hunter but a fricking handful around the house if not exercised.

How old? Ours took a couple of years to settle down.
This AM, he's decided he wants to be a 37# lap dog....

I hunted with one Opening Weekend in MS this year. This is a still shot from video I got coming into our hole. It was encircled by orange Cyrpress Trees and Willows that no longer had their leaves. Very pretty. When he retrieved a Mallard I couldn’t see his head for the duck.

I want one of these little brown dogs so bad. Was close to pulling the trigger last year but a newborn got in the way of that.

There is some breeders in south Miss, and a large population of breeders in North Alabama. {I got mine from Huntsville}
The breed is awesome. He's sleeping under my chair as I type this message. Great with other dogs, very smart, swims like a fish. His favorite thing to do is ride in a car or boat.
Here's the link LINK
I've been told by several people to beware of the breeders in Oklahoma, and Texas. Supposedly they are crossing them with other breeds to make them larger fwiw

Nah the big ones are all boykin mine is out of mule came from GA
Be leery of anyone with too many stipulations involved with the purchase/varying prices
Good boykins have skins on the wall or in their immediate lineage.....

Mine came from Huntsville also. Is yours from Dr Able?
Just carried him to the vet this week and he weighed 48 lbs. the vet said you know Boykins are not supposed to be this big. I said don’t tell me tell him.

Offspring from Choupiquesushi's male. She is small at 28 lbs but got the job done today despite her trainer...

You the guy that found your Boykin on Craigslist? I remember one poster on here found one of Dr Able’s Boykins on Craigslist.

Nope, Boyetts Boykins in Athens Alabama. Found them on gundogbreeders.com
It was the first litter they've had.
Got him for my daughter when I won a fishing tournament earlier this year(promised her if I won she'd get a puppy). His name is Toledo, 9 mos old and seriously smart (except when he chases something in the front yard)

That was me. Our dogs are litter mates if I remember correctly. I saw where you said yours is 48 lbs mine was 43 lbs last month at the vet. He’s doing great he’s been picking up a couple limits of wood ducks each Saturday morning and we’re headed to New Mexico this weekend for pheasant in the morning and dove in the afternoon.
Anybody on Instagram go follow him @boykin.mack (shameless plug)

That’s a great looking dog and some awesome pictures. Thanks for posting that link.

I have one out of chief that is around 43#. I had a much smaller female out of mule that was around 28#. If I could genetically engineer one, I wouldn't want one smaller than 40 again.

I got mine here. He was really easy to work with. It was 7 years ago so I'm not sure if he is still in business.

I don’t mind when mine is on the couch but when he takes control of the remote I get pissed.

We don't fight over the remote, but he sure watches with me.
