How much you wanting to spend?
50$ case sod buster
500$ Chris Reeve with a wood handle
If my son gave me either one it would be my favorite knife. When I see a person with a sod buster I automatically assume I like them. They may prove me wrong but for the most part you can judge a person by the kind of knife he carries or the lack of one.

BladeHQ or Knifecenter. Spyderco, Benchmade, etc.

Use Benchmade's custom knife builder site and do a mini Crooked River. Can chose blade steel, hardware finishes, hardwood handle scales. Will run from $260 to $500 depending on what options you choose. Can also have the blade laser etched with any number of words, patterns, or images. I've done two custom Griptillians for my brother and dad. Also had a custom Grip and full size Crooked River for me.

Not sure how “nice” you consider nice, but if you’re looking into something that could be a “pass down”, take a look at William Henry’s. Some are pretty pricey, but very nice. The owner’s son also began making knives and they’re a little more modern, but I can’t remember the brand.
Probably not a folder for EDC, but could still be used on occasion.

Look in Puma Knives. They have a nice selection of wood handles.

Gaston- Is that a legit site you linked that mini crooked river from? Nice looking knife, and much cheaper than every other site that has it

Agree on the wood handle Benchmade. Got my Dad a North Fork a few years ago that he uses daily and has held up as you would expect from a Benchmade.

You sure, looks like some weird one-off site? Every other site through a quick google has it for $204. This looks like the official benchmade site that has it for $240?

Holy shite, I just followed an image there. Yea…would not trust that contact information. Bet Benchmade would like to know about this site.

Sorry. I’ve built and bought knives on Benchmade’s site…guess this phony one doesn’t offer that.

Chris Reeve. Sebenzas are what I prefer, but the mnandi is on my list.

Nothing else comes close, in my opinion. Bench made, spyderco, etc are all nice, but not in the same realm as CHris Reeve.

Haha, no worries. I just thought it looked a little strange. Thanks for the recommendation though. Now just have to find a legit site that even has it in stock. A lot of places don't

Hen & Rooster is my favorite pocket knife brand. They make some nice knifes, always go with the German steel Hen & Rooster.

Think that really depends on the end user. I have a Sebenza 25 and my EDC's are still mostly Benchmades, generally my custom Crooked River or a 940. The Axis lock is a more user-friendly system than any frame-lock and once broken in they are as smooth as anything else with the exception of the older SOG arc-lock knives.

Case has already been said and that's hard to beat, but I also have a Helle knife that I like a lot. Most of theirs are fixed blade, but they make a few that are folding. Larger knife, but could still be pocket knife. Beautiful wooden handle.

Agreed. But the sebenza can be re worked at CR and will still be a functional piece when you want to give it to your kids. CR tolerances are tighter than any other manufacturer. I’m sure a mini grip or a spyderco would be able to do anything a CR can, of course. But I like nice siht and I hope to pass these down to my boys. I’ve also managed to take care of and keep the two sebenzas I have way longer than any cheaper knife. You make sure it doesn’t get misplaced when it’s an arm and a leg to replace.
