I am seriously starting to believe that every one in south LA should just build their home on a barge with a casing in the four corners that would allow it to rise and stay in place during a flood event
You wouldn't need flood insurance or have to be living 15' in the air.

I am in the process of catching up on this whole flooding thing, I had heard Morgan City could be in trouble does anyone know about Pierre Part?

I know that, I guess I should have asked in more detail, but is there a chance the water could crest that levee?

My gf is from there, she said her mom told her they're expecting a little flooding in some places, I guess from some of the water going through lake verret? I'm not sure though.

that is correct...it would be backwater...
Unless the levee's on the spillway side fail...which is highly unlikely.
