Update. Al Conklin says we will hit a record level around 4pm.

Will update with pics.

Supposed to get to 10ft

Six years ago, five boats floated over the dam.

Have you ever seen such a huge amount of moisture that far north of a hurricane ? Not saying that it is part of the hurricane but it’s still soaking all of the south.

I am only guessing. But I bet Duke Energy has an agreement with insurance companies that they have to keep Lake Norman from flooding as there are thousands of properties. We are a tiny lake and the claims are way less.

Just a theory.

Back to normal levels.

I lived in Shuffle town for 6 years.

Used to party with Whitey from Whiteys body shop

Caught several 30 to 40 pound catfish below the Mt. Island damn in the river and deer hunt the woods behind my house in River Bend on the developers undeveloped property.

FIL putting up a restaurant at the old Hubies Bubble up biker bar.

FIL’s father owned a tv repair shop beside the Shuffle Town Grill.

He knows whitey. Y’all may know the same folks. He grew up here.

No, but I’m pretty happy. I installed a rain water collection system for my cabin in NC and can only imagine the 1,500 gallon tank is full.

I was just gonna say maybe the full tank of water and the cabin might be down the hill right now. Hope not.
