Looking for something to mount up front. 7 or 9” screen. Budget is up to 1K. Don’t need live scope. Any suggestions? Replacing Lawrence Hook Reveal 7”.

Don’t need mapping on this one. I have Lawrence Elite that has navigation

Cabela’s is having a Garmin Sale right now. Looking at the 9” Echomap. Is it worth $300 to go up to the 10”? This is going on my tracker pro 170.

Cabela’s sale

Absolutely. I just put one on my boat and the biggest recurring theme on a Garmin Group I follow was, "Spend the money and go at least 10 inch."

If you ever change your mind, you already have the screen.

Based on your needs, I would absolutely get one of the Echomaps. I went from a 9 to a 10 up front, but that was mostly due to Livescope. Can't say if it's worth it or not for just 2D and/or downscan.

Yes. You'll never regret it.

It's not worth the price going to the 10" screen. It would be if you went to the 12". The sizes are measured from corner to corner, so technically you are adding 1/2 to each side with a 10". Go with the 9" or buy a 12". Ive the 9 and use with my lvs32 with GT 54 transducer.

Echomaps hold their value well because they're able to be used for Livescope. If you're not staring at it for scoping then the 9in should be fine. FYI tho if you have a Garmin trolling motor, or plan to get one, they're compatible with a toned down version of ffs from the trolling motor transducer
