Question about the brace ruling.

If you are in possession of a brace after the ruling is implemented, is that a felony or is it only if it's on your pistol?

if it's installed on the firearm, it'll be a felony.

if it's stored in the same safe/area as the firearm, there might be "constructive intent" which will then lead to a possible felony.

if it's stored in your "extra crap box" located in your garage/attic/no where near the firearm, you're fine.

you can only use it if the firearm is registered with the NFA if the barrel is less than 16”.

the term "brace" will basically no longer exist. you might as well consider it a stock. in that case, you would want to handle it the same way as you would handle a short barreled upper stored with your 16"+ ARs (the "constructive intent" possibility).

That will be up to the courts to decide because a federal agency can't just invent laws without going through the legislature. When you obtained it, you obtained it legally, so they have a hard argument to prove that simply by doing nothing, you committed a crime.

They're incredible but my Seekins SP10 with a few upgrades is a damn fine rifle at almost 1k less.

GA Precision uses mostly Seekins parts for a reason.

they're treating it as if it's a stock. if nothing happens in the courts in our favor and you get caught with it at the range while it's installed on your AR and it's isn't registered with the NFA...

Ballistic Advantage 10.3 Barrels

Gov't Barrel

Hanson Barrel

It'll be going in a budget MK18 "inspired" build and will probably be suppressed eventually.

The DD barrel for $259 is BIN (buy it now) pricing.

Did some looking into the Seekins and I had no clue that CAG/Delta were using those now.

Would have never guessed it, but I guess the lockup/rail system rigidity gives it basically bolt action-like accuracy.

That thing has to weigh a ton, though, right?

to clarify, you mean "buy it now" before it sells out or goes back to regular price?

eta: it's going to be $288.50 after taxes/shipping

I bought the BA 10.3” gift barrel for $95 on Brownells. Then I read the post of getting the DD barrel.

I’m also curious how much of a difference/impact it would be to mix/match barrel/bcg brands.

Since Aero owns BA, I bought an Aero bcg to match the receivers. My OCD is starting to take over.

If I decide on the DD barrel, I’m probably gonna want to use a DD bcg as well.

Buy the DD barrel and a true mil-spec bcg from AO Precision or Microbest if you don't want to foot the bill for a DD bcg that is the exact same thing.
