Just looked at the SLR B-15 builder sets. Jesus they are up over 1K now. I pay d $825 8 months ago while they were on sale. It’s a great ambi lower but getting very pricey.

Tombstone Tactical has the DDM4V7 with a Geissele SSA and MBUS Pro sights for $1610 again with free shipping. I'm so conflicted right now.

It would be the perfect AR15 if only it didn't still have the stupid government profile barrel.

DD also publicly suck up to the ATF.
There's also a Tavor 7.62 for only $1699 with free shipping. Decisions, decisions.

me buying one of those is no different than going out and buying a pistol caliber carbine like a keltec sub 2000.

plus, the reviews i've seen haven't made it seem like it's that special.

The Tavor line isn't a gimmick though when it's been used by the Israelis for 15+ years now.

Does anyone have experience with a 14.5" midlength and if they're finicky with lower powered .223?

Did you just say a 7.62x51 rifle is the same as a PCC?

I think my 14.5” Radian is mid length. I have a superlative arms adjustable gas block.
No issues at at.

no

what i meant was that it's "different". i'm not so much into being different.

Warrior Poet Review

the charging handle is one of the "concerns". if you bump it, it won't fire
- "C" clamping
- wall mounting

shoulder swapping (you get more brass/gas while shooting left handed compared to an AR)

non-adjustable

limited rail space

trigger mechanism

That's going to depend on the system (port size, gas block, buffer, spring). My 14.7" FN barrel (0.078" port, carbine buffer, Sprinco white spring) loves PMC 223, which many consider one of the lowest powered commercial rounds available.

What's the twist rate of your barrel? Type of barrel? If your shooting 55grain out of a 1/7 twist that could be your problem

I had one for a long time. Sabre defence barrel, shot nothing but steel cased 55gr out of it. Ran fine.

There are so many variables though, it could be any number of things.

Steel cased 223 is considerably weaker than a 5.56 load.

BCM 14.5" midlength (I've read they enlarge the gas port for weaker ammo). Regular carbine buffer and spring. I mainly shoot genuine Lake City M193.

1:7.

4150, chrome lined, chambered for 5.56, not CHF, govt profile.

I doubt M193 (which is 55gr) would be an issue, I'm mainly talking about weaker .223 like PMC Bronze or Wolf.
