Sometimes 3 times a week, sometimes none for 2-3 weeks. Usually about once a week. It's amazing.

carried about $100 in cash, credit card, and i.d. Lots of cash only places between the atm's.

Random acts of kindness. Crossing a road or walking the trail and stumbling upon, bbq's, beer, free rides, free place to sleep, snacks, drinks, etc. Can be as small as a honey bun or as big as a catered meal; all out of nowhere. People park in the middle of nowhere and help out hikers. The trail will rekindle your faith in the human race. The churches out there are awesome to hikers.

I've met a lot of people in the woods and it really does show you there are good people still out there. People will bend over backwards for you if they can.

its amazing what people get rid of, burn, cut off, etc...just to lose the weight
