Pretty much how I feel about it. Especially since if that bum gets hurt on your dock they will probably be calling Morris Bart
My wife's cousin has the camp next to ours and he rents his out and it pisses me off to no end that the guests think our dock is part of the camp they rented. Had some little heathens put mud all over our dock last time we were there.

If they are in the wrong, it appears you can go pellet gun to the butt.

Usually I'm pretty cool about it (I'm on a shared private dock) but I've also been woken up by some idiots 'tinking' their baited hooks off my bow at the dock...that PISSES ME OFF. Keeping the gate shut only works if everybody does it, otherwise it's just an invitation to fish on the dock.

I don't know if it is feasible with your layout, but you could put a fence around the entrance to the dock so your dog can roam around the entrance. A dog will deter most trespassers.
