Wilderness Systems Ride 135. Best bang for to buck on the market and has been for the better part of 10 years. Often overlooked because it's not the new trendy design. People often get caught up in redesigning the wheel and look beyond the value of a proven system. Go look for a used Ride 135...they are hard to find and there's a good reason for that. Most of us that have them, don't let them go. You'd have to engineer a motor mount if that's a requirement.

Ours had three. I was only interested in the blue and pink anyway.

Can you stand up and fish? Looks like the same body style as my Redfish 12 and you can't stand up for shite in that one.

I recently considered switching out my outback for a PA.

In 2015 hobie re-did the seats in the outback, same seat as in the PA and very comfortable for all day fishing. look hard at the outback.

as noted above, if mostly fishing the marsh don't get the PA. too heavy and bulky. look hard at the outback.

if carrying on top of your car/suv, don't get the PA. too heavy and bulky. look hard at the outback.

if fishing by yourself much, so you have to get the kayak from your vehicle down to the water and back again by yourself, don't get the PA. too heavy and bulky. look hard at the outback.

if being able to stand is important, I'm 6/4" and 210#. I can cast a baitcaster all day and fight redfish in the marsh while standing in my outback. look hard at the outback.

You'll spend over $1,000 less for the outback. Use that to accessorize an outback and still have money left over to buy beer and hookers with.

For what it's worth. Either way, just get something and get on the water.

Ride 135 doesnt look like it, but its a dance floor.

Excellent all around kayak, great middle of the road length at 13'5 vs 12 and 14

Very similar looking but the Redfish is designed after the WS Tarpon which is a speed demon but not able to stand and all that.

Just buy a Hobie Outback and be done with the research. Seriously.

Terrible advice, Hobie gurus sometimes get tunnel vision and forget other companies make quality boats. Demo, demo, demo.

I have personally owned and fished out of a KC Kayak, Hobie Outback, and Native Slayer Propel 13.

I had some issues with the KC cracks as previously mentioned, and the guys at KC bent over backwards to help me with that. But the cracking is the reason I got out of them. Other than that issue, which I hope they can solve, I really enjoyed that boat.

My wife has an outback which I have fished out of many of times. My boat of choice is still the Native Slayer Propel.

If you can come up with the money, I'd tell you to just bite the bullet and go for a boat with a pedal drive. You can't paddle and fish at the same time, but you can pedal and fish. Also, it makes windy days much less miserable.

KC did fix the cracking problems early last year. They reinforced the center with high density foam to keep the center from bowing. I tried many different kayaks over about two months and ended up in a KC. I took two of their seats and mounted a board to them so I can have a decent sized casting platform when sight fishing out in the marsh.

Mine has the foam in the middle. Still cracked. It's not spider cracking at the edges like the originals, it's cracking at the scupper holes. I have to drain it each time I use it.

I could have sworn that mine had the foam as well when it cracked, but I may be wrong. It's been awhile. Mine were the spider cracks at the edges.

Have you looked at the Cuda 12? I bought a Cuda 14 as a backup boat and preferred the Slayer at first but that Cuda is so much easier to load up that I'm considering putting a rudder on the Cuda and making it my primary boat. It's significantly lighter than my Slayer.

they have similar decks but completely different hulls. The Ride 135 is one of the first "stand and fish" model kayaks produced.

I think mine has slight spider cracks at the edges (I heard it crack last time I was out) but those don't really bother me. It's the cracks that allow water in that piss me off.
