I did the same for my 300bo build. It's my first so I'm still waiting for the fingerprint card to come in. Hopefully quick once I send that back.

Probably trying to recoup some customers after being outed for lobbying against suppressors being removed from the NFA.

Oops, not sure why I thought that was silencer Co.
Are any other retailers covering the stamp? Hell of a way for them to get customers back.

Yea. They fricked up and were outed.

I didn’t know they did that. To be honest from a business standpoint it was a fairly wise move for them specifically.
Without the need to smooth out the process Silencer Central doesn’t really have anything to offer. I don’t agree with them doing it but it does make sense.

Silencer shop has free stamps on several brands.
I can't say that SS is better but I've used their kiosk for 5 or 6 of my silencers.
I've never used silencer central.

They get 0 of the tax, and they'd likely sell more suppressors without that $200 stamp. It was straight up retarded, actually.

their marketing has primarily been around how easy they make it to buy a suppressor and just have it shipped to your house. Removing them from the NFA means I walk in to a local gun shop and buy it off the shelf. Online retailers will lose sales or have to cut prices and reduce the profitability of individual sales and rely on selling larger numbers of cans, or they'll have to figure out something else unique to offer a buyer.

Silencer Shop has had a lot of free stamps lately.

The LGS lacks the variety, stock, and sales numbers to compete with the established e businesses... presently. It will be like guns, online is way easier to find exactly what you want, at a price lower than your LGS.

I never said they got any of the tax stamp money. I said their only differentiation to the competition was “making the process easy” if the regulatory hassle goes away no one needs them to make the process easy. If suppressors go OTC (which they should) SC goes away like a fart in the wind.

that's true, and let's run with that. When I'm looking for a gun, I go on Ammoseek and gun.deals and find the best price + shipping + transfer fee. There are typically several pages on Ammoseek of online stores that have it or can get it, and often dozens of stores on gun.deals with the exact UPC I am looking for, and I order from the lowest priced store available.
Of course they don't want that either.

I think the idea is that once suppressors are removed from the NFA, every Tom, Dick and Harry with a printer will be offering cans. Certainly the established gun manufacturers will get in the game.
Can't wait to get a 3 pack of cans for $150 on a PSA fire deal.

A large percent of the cost of the suppressor is the overhead it takes to comply with the bullshite laws.
I could definitely see a suppressor true market price being what a typical muzzle brake or flash hider cost after all this NFA is gutted.
