I bought a Honda pioneer 1000-5 off market place . I do not like it puts off way to much heat in the cab. Gets unbearable in the summer

thats the really the ony con i have seen, but there are PLENTY of mods to fix it. the heat barrier works and is a cheap fix, then i saw a guy install 1 or 2 blower fans that blow air from the cab into the engine bay and keeps the hot air from sitting in the bay and heating up the cab. He also put a switch on it to revers the fans to blow hot air into the cab for winter time.

Or just get a RMAX and not have to do mods that "might" help. And get comfortable rear seating.

some people might not want an RMAX.. dont be a "mines the best" fig.

tell you the truth i had never looked at what an RMAX was, and doesnt accomplished what the 1000-5 does. the full bed the 1000-5 has and its bumping ability IMO makes this way better for someone who will use this for more than just hauling people. To each his own.

I drove my dads 1000-5 around for a year and while you could tell the heat was coming from the engine bay, is wasnt bad. It wasnt enough to look at something else. But I do think Honda could and should fix that.

The seats fold down for a bed like the Pioneer. But the seats aren't the jump seats that are fairly uncomfortable.

I don't care what you or anyone else spends money on or what they buy. I do believe that to state that it us an awesome machine when to me it has obvious engineering flaws is not a totally accurate portrayal to someone researching what to purchase.

not from that i saw. the only images saw was the bottem seat folds up and the back slides forward. so you have a 3/4 bed and it doesnt dump. If this a feature you need, no. but it is different. Thats what i was pointing out.

i see that and is a plus if your main motive is just hauling people around and want the short wheelbase. but if that is your main motive, get a golf cart. Im not saying the RMAX is a bad choice. Im just saying that the engine bay heat issue isnt a show stopper because it really isnt that bad.

I got a polaris ranger 1000 xp last year and it is absolutely amazing. TONS of storage, and it hasn't even tried to get stuck yet. tons of power. a large bed.

only real issue is how pricey the addons get.

Beware, only use turf mode on even surfaces like a paved road.

I bought the Kawasaki Mule Pro Mx last summer.

It’s been a great bike so far. Plenty of power in the 700cc engine for me. It’s not a mud machine but gets me in and out of the woods with 10+ sacks of corn easily.

3 average baws can fit across the bench seat although it's a 2 seater. It’s 2.5 inches narrower than the Ranger 1000 3 seater.

3 year warranty, power steering, and if I had not added a winch at purchase it would’ve been under $10k OTD.

My hunting partner has a Kubota diesel. It is a horse. Definitely not just transportation, that thing was made to work

The majority of side x side's up until a couple years ago was Polaris Rangers. Now it's Pioneers

Have seen this trend as well for ag land duck hunters. What Polaris historically dominated (and for good reason given Honda's first SxS was awful), the Pioneer has taken a significant chunk from them now.

Big fan of my Pioneer 700 now 3 years old, great for ag land duck hunting and around the house. Bigger question is.....where are people actually finding bikes in stock to buy???

Pioneer 700-4

Pros:
Tough as hell
Good low end
No clutch, belt, etc issues
Ind. suspension is way tougher than ranger.
Fold down seats for kids with seatbelts. Plenty of cargo

Cons:
Not for racing
I want another one.

There have been like three recalls for Honda for getting to weld the frame tabs where the suspension attaches. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here
