Anybody ever put dye in the mix? Just tired of going back and seeing green strips.

If youre too cheap to buy dye, koolaid packs work in a pinch

I have the same issues. May try the dye technique as well.

What type of dye? Is there a dye made for the purpose? Thanks

I thought this thread was a joke, but apparently not.
Can y’all please explain to me what y’all are talking about? We bush hog our plots then till them up, fertilize, and plant. Works good every year.

I burn all my plots with roundup before I till em up.

Put dye in your herbicide mix so you can see where you have sprayed

Bush hog plots low as you can go. Drag out dead grass a week later and spray / burn where we intend to plant. Let it sit 10 days and till if just bare soil....plant and fertilize.
We have a " carpet grass " that shows up when it gets cool. If we do not burn it hard, it will suffocate any and all plants that you want in your plot.

Yeah i get it at tractor supply for blue.
They raised the prices during covid ao I tried other things.
Then groceries went up so its back to dye.

My first reaction to this was to question whether you were trying to attract hogs in to eat the dead grass so there was less to deal with or if you were trying to poison the hogs with roundup!.

We tried the “mark it blue” dye and all it did was make a mess. It doesn’t show on grass unless you use an absolute ton of it, at which point you’re paying more for dye than herbicide. Cheaper to just make another pass if you’re unsure if you hit an area. I bought a larger tank for my sprayer so I can mix at actual label rates and be sure it’s all getting covered.

I bought this recently and it works well. It’ll Smurf you up if you’re not careful, though.
