People almost always start with this concept, but almost always end up buying multiple cans.

I was advised by my suppressor nerd friend to skip the universal idea and just get a dedicated can for my favorite rifle and go from there. That's what everyone ends up doing anyway, according to him.

Is there any logic to getting 1 top notch can for use across 30 cal, 5.56, .270, 6.5? I have all of those rifles. My thought was cheap can for cheap AR, but if I can use it everywhere...

I started out with that logic, but quickly started looking into other options and specific builds.

- First suppressor was an Aero Precision Lahar-30

- A “Budget Badger” got me into Polonium-30
- Military clones got me into a Surefire RC2 for my MK18 Block II. It’s probably going to get me into a Knights NT4 M4QD for my MK18 Mod0 build.
- Gary Gordon Delta Carbine… Allen Engineering M4-Delta suppressor.
- My PSA JAKL has handcuffed me into getting a Dead Air can at some point.

The itch for that one hasn’t began yet. Too many variants. I have considered MK12 Mod1 with the Knights long FF RAS quad rail. But the PRI variants are pretty bad arse, too. Especially the one with the ACE SOCOM stock (MOD H?).

Mine was approved in 4 days but t’m waiting to see how long it takes for the actual can to show up for pickup. I’m not sure if there’s any backend paperwork once form is approved that could slow the process.

Bought mine at local shop. Was certified Monday. Curious to see how much longer I have to wait. They said best guess was about 5-7 days

Update. Mine was approved today. Exactly 7 business days after certification.

based on some of the comments in the r/NFA thread, Form 1s are about 7-14 days and Form 4s are about 8 days.

That parts easy.

Mod 0 if you strictly want the best shooter
Mod H if you want to compromise some shootability for more modern.

Regardless, PRI is the way to go. They all come with the brake and collar and you know it'll be correct. I'm not into cloning and I only care about landing bullets on target. Mine is cobbled together with the wrong forend so it's more like MK12 inspired than a real mk 12. Favorite rifle I've ever had and I will absolutely have a real PRI Mod H upper at some point in my life. It's so much more of a pleasant shooting experience than any other AR I've ever used. So accurate and soft shooting. The guy from 9 hole doing a speed run DMR course clear with a mod 0 is amazing to watch. He did it without the suppressor due to mirage but it's a good show of what the Mk12 was really intended to do. I'm surprised it's not more popular with the pig hunters.

And, those AEM5's and OCM5's sound AMAZING relative to every other 5.56 suppressor I've heard (admittedly not very many of them).

ETA: I just watched that again. He made 2x hits from 150 to 300 yards, without even blinking one single time. He only missed once on the entire course, at 720 yards, because of a wind gust.

Now, tell me you don't have an itch for a mk12???? You aint shooting that with your pappy's old model 70.

Don't remind me, I paid for the stamps (2) along with about 2 grand in cans on December 10th.

Well there’s $400 that’s you will never get back

You’ve got to plan this shite better. I ordered close to 2k in cans and avoided both tax stamps. Got one mid December and got the other already.

I'm not fluid on this process, but seems to be moving fast. I purchased an Otter Creek Labs Polonium duty on the 8th. Form 3 came back the next day and I got the email that the can was shipped out to my dealer. Tracking shows the dealer has the can and I guess now they are supposed to call me to come in and sign some more forms and then I wait for final approval?

Purchased a few items from Battlehawk Armory. Fast, lots of inventory....

quote:

Once we receive an approved FORM3 from the ATF we then ship the NFA item to your dealer within 24 hours, you will receive tracking for this, once it arrives you will then go fill out ATF Form4 with your dealer, and patiently wait for approval before you can take it home.

Currently FORM3's are taking 1-2 weeks for approval from the ATF.

I ordered one in October that sat at my local shop until this week. I couldn’t justify paying for a $200 stamp on a $300 can.

The email I received that morning from SS told to buy today to get in before the 26th thus beat the thousands of people waiting until after the first. They then proceeded to screw me over for the next two plus weeks, so nothing in by the 26th, and I'm still waiting a month later. I've bought other cans from them in the past, I will never use them again after this. Nothing to do but wait now and write it off to a learning lesson, I expect to get the approval any day now going off what others have said.

I just received my stamps, 7 business days basically is what it took from submission of the Form 4s. I will have them in hand shortly, good luck to the others waiting.

That’s still great. After waiting 12 to 14 months for my first two years ago anything under a month is great to me.

I’ll pick up a few more this year with the shorter wait times.

I’d like a dedicated 9mm can for my Walther PDP and Shadow systems. Any recommendations for a smaller can? I’ve got the primal to play with for now but that will be more for my PCC stuff and would not like a donkey dick hanging off a 4.5 inch pistol
