Yes the spawn has started on Toledo and will last into April. Usually starts late Feb in your warmer coves. Nothing unusual about it on Toledo they spawn from 1 ft deep out to 10 ft deep. 55 degree water and things start happening 59 to 60 degrees up top and your deeper fish are headed up too. Good luck yall.

I guess I need to go to BassPro and/or Academy tomorrow to stock up for my trip. I have almost zero tackle for bass fishing, so any recommendations on some must-have tackle are greatly appreciated. Looking forward to some quality time with my uncle and cousin. Boating some fish would be nice too.

Speed craws, speed worms, lizards, flukes, and baby brush hogs by Zoom. That's most of my plastics every year. Garlic spray and chartruese dye for the green colored baits.

With the way it's warming up this week, people shouldn't have too many problems catching fish this weekend

Alx, you do any good this weekend?
No. Only fished the morning with two of these guys. Only one fish caught between us. Trying to decide what to do Saturday.

While driving back sunday my buddy claims he got a report of two over twelve caught this weekend. People are fishing in over 30 foot and catching big ones. Will bring a spoon and maybe make a few attempts when we see the GPS explode with fish over 30 foot. Can't think of anything to throw except a heavy spoon, football jig or Carolina rig.

I know for a fact there were two over 12 caught, and one of them was in 4' of water.

That's all the classified Intel i needed. 12 pounders should now fear me.
One small bit of info I need, what bait were they using?

So many over the past three years have come on a Senko that if a 10+ was my goal, I'd just throw that and nothing else.

Keith Comeaux, of Lake Charles, shows off the giant 12.90-pound largemouth bass he caught Saturday afternoon in Mill Creek on Toledo Bend. The monster bass hit a wacky-rigged watermelon-purple Zoom Trick Worm on the fall in about 4 feet of water.

My nemesis. The wacky rigged senko. Not sure why so many big fish eat that up....

Going again 2 days in the next week. Watching weather and will try to fish on an overcast or rainy day.

I hate throwing anything weightless. Only way I'll throw it is if somebody is kicking my arse with it, or I've tried just about everything else.
