The only reason I could maybe rule out a bear is there were no signs of claws. Just toes! Bears can't retract their claws.

This. My brothers and I are in late 30s to early 40s. We’ve pulled shenanigans like this to each other and friends since we were 11 years old. Now, we’ll mostly do it to a buddy or a goody arse in-law we’ll bring to hunt our place every so often.

So the only thing about this is, I shouldn't have found them. I was checking out a really thick thicket and got tangled up in some briars. I saw the clear spot and hacked my way there to get free of the stickers. That's when I saw them. There's a very small chance I would have ever crossed that area. It wasn't on a normal cleared path to the stands or feeders. It was in the middle of a very dense thicket.

Get a casting of the tracks. There are places you can send the cast to have it analyzed.

Definitely a bear. Look at the faint track going the other way to the upper right.
You can see his claw imprints.
Also on the second digit on the main track you can see a claw mark.

Going with bear as well as I couldn’t come up with anything else possible if hoax is ruled out. Definitely interested though considering that’s getting a little further south than I’ve seen/heard of them.
