“an old man that never put any stereo in it”

I’m an old man(73),have had 5 boats over the years starting early 20’s.Never had the urge to listen to music or anything else when I was fishing.

To each his own.

I have 6 of them, use them for e callers hunting snows. We’ve done just about everything we could to destroy them and they keep on keepin on. I probably wouldn’t pay that if I were just going to use them for music, but for what I use mine for they’re great.

Cool. My boat isn't just for fishing. I have a family that likes to ride in the boat and go to the beach as well. Take some long rides to/from the fishing spots as well.

Baw. One of the greatest joys in life is blasting some 90s country/80s rock and sipping a cold beer on the ride back in after smoking a limit of trout.

I’ve had a gen 2 for a couple years now and I don’t have any complaints other than some connection troubles at times.

They are expensive but they’re bulletproof. I’m not sure I’d ever have a boat with built in speakers after owning this.

Check out Demerbox. The case is made by Pelican and can open it up to store stuff. Think I saw a Father’s Day sale going on now also. Made in USA

I have 3 friends with these. They love them. They also double as a dry box for wallet, keys, etc.

I have a hard time throwing that much money at a Bluetooth speaker, whether it be a DemerBox or Turtlebox.

Gen 2 400.00....thoughts?

I'm an audiophile of sorts. Two relatives run sound for a living and one always mixes at Jazz Fest. I think I know good sound. The one time I heard a Turtlebox I thought it sounded like dogshit. Super middy with no bottom end. I wouldn't give you 200 for one, much less 400.

I use this one: W-King

Really good sound out the box, bass was way better than I've ever heard out of a bluetooth speaker, waterproof, linkable, plenty loud enough, lasts 7-8 hours at 3/4 volume when you turn the disco lights off. To give you an idea of the size, it fits in the back compartment of a golf cart laying down.

And they're offering an 80 dollar coupon right now. Price comes down to 180. You could buy two of these for the price of one TB and completely drown it out and still have 40 bucks left over.

But people still buy Yeti's so.....

I have 2 of them. Would recommend. They are even better paired together in stereo. If they were around when I got my golf cart and boat, I wouldn't have bothered putting a Wetsounds sound bar on either of them.

I have the jbl boom box and a turtle box. They are both bomb proof and awesome.

Like said you can link 2 of them together which is what a buddy did for his boat.

Bought one...hard nut to swallow but buy once cry once

Sounds amazing, played for 9 hours straight on low volume packing up the house and still some battery left.

Will enjoy

same and I'd argue the JBL boombox has better bass, but otherwise for the size and sound, the TB is hard to beat.

How is that giant arse thing being compared to something like a turtlebox? We're talking about something you carry in one hand and hop on the boat, not something the size of a coffin.

Maybe you missed the part where I said it will lay flat in the back compartment on a golf cart? It's just over a foot tall and maybe 8 inches wide by 8 inches thick.

You think it takes you and your buddy Biff to carry it? An 8 year old can carry it and drink a Capri Sun with his other hand.

Maybe work on being a tiny bit less dramatic?

Poor word choice on my part. There's lights around each speaker that you can turn off, which I do.

I admit it's not nearly as big as it looks just from the images. They really ought to work on their marketing material.

It still doesn't look like it would be very durable though.
