He gets a lot of hate. Most hunting celebrities do. But the only two times I have been around him he seemed to be a pretty genuinely good dude. Not all are.

That industry as a whole seems pretty slimy. They kill a deer on tv and they develop this insufferable persona and start peddling themselves as wildlife specialists, land managers, etc.
Really gets sideways when they find a group of people eating their BS with a spoon. They essentially run roughshod over everyone in the camp and ruin it for everyone but themselves.
Have seen it firsthand.
That being said, Marvin Wafflehouse seems like a good dude.

Michael is a good person. Got things figured out after a couple of rough patches. He’s an exceptional hunter….even if he no longer returns my phone calls.

He started off as a young, hardcore hunter. His roots are similar to many of ours were growing up, go hunt whatever stand with a rifle, not worrying about all the stuff we do as hunters now. He got noticed with his turkey calling skills and climbed up from there. He’s a great turkey hunter obviously, and even if he does get to hunt prime ground all over the country, he’s a great archer.

Uses to watch Bone Collector all the time. Then he lost me after he went on this tirade about the monument designations Obama made, how it was this massive grab of private land by the federal government and they were stealing all sorts of land rights/privileges from the American people. Anyone that tried to point out the fallacies of his arguments would get verbally berated by him and then blocked.
For the most part, he's a great ambassador for hunting. But that was a very poor look for him. I always preferred T-Bone and Mundt to him, anyway.
