It's what I caught my best bass on several several years ago.

My favorite has got to be the red shad sluggo all up in some grass in gibson. Bastards usually can't resist it.

I agree. That picture does not do that fish justice.

Don't even have a pic of my biggest one because it wasn't worth taking a picture. I've caught a shitload of bass, with the biggest one being about 4.25 lbs

All right the reason I asked is because I got a new color rising in the ranks...

Zoom makes a watermelon candy red. It's watermelon candy with extra red flake.

It's been out producing wat/red... just a little diffrence goes a long way I guess.

Caught 30 yesterday between 4:30>dark. White jig with black stripes on back, black head with red eye, and a spinner. Dinks, but it was fun. Oh, yea on Vernon in about 2-4ft.

I drove over Vernon this week, it was looking good. I saw some grass in the pocket behind 171, so I assume it's elsewhere.

We're headed to Toledo Monday and Tuesday to get some of that action. My buddy's brother and friend caught 98 last week. Of the 98 they said 20 were over 4 lbs.

No shite. Pirates cove produces a 10+ every year...

Crawfish or Toledo gold rat-l-trap I bet.

Did they get their licenses checked?

-infection
-hematoma
-coonasty (my personal favorite)
-dirty sanchez

Just did some pre-spawn fishing over here in Texas. The bite's starting to heat up along with the water temps. Caught most on BabyBrushHogs in watermelon seed, watermelon green, and watermelon red. That was when the water was pretty clear. Wind picked up on us on third day. Front moved in. Water got churned and stained. The bite slowed. Started switching colors and lures. Put on a SK 7" Rage Tail Anaconda worm in Big Tex and caught a 3.5LB, 4.25LB, and 5LB. As those conditions change, you better stay on your toes and change as well. I caught those 3 nice ones immediately after I made the switch to a larger profile and different color.

Thanks for the JuneBug and RedShad color suggestions. Going to pick up some more plastics and will get some in those colors.

I grew up bass fishing and my dad was in a fishing club and fished tournaments on the weekends. During the week he and I would go fishing all the time. Living off the Intracoastal made it easy. He would smoke the bass on Tequila Sunrise worm. In my younger days, a white jig head with a blue and white tube jig and a gold spinner would kill the bass. Pearl colored sassy shad was also great. Chartreuse and white spinners are always good.
