If you read Alx comments and can't ascertain that he is mad as hell at everyone disagreeing with him, than I really don't lnow what to tell you. I expressed my opinion which was in bold several times. If you don't agree, that's fine.

We all know that yes, technically spinning reels are open faced. That isn't the debate. It's about common terms.

Do you still content that people do not refer to spinners as opened faced? Wouldn't you agree that real people set up eBay listings? Search ebay for open faced reels and see what you get.
