I recently tried to buy a F-150. They couldn't give me the deal I wanted, went to Chevy dealer and made a deal for twice the truck and 6k less than the F-150.

I'm not loyal to any brand, I think 99% vehicles are how you drive them, with the other 1% being lemons.

I worked in the auto industry for quite a while, I can tell you this 1% or more are built on a Monday or Friday, find out what day it was built before you buy and increase your odds....

It used to be on the door stickers that had GVWR information, not sure if it is still there, I used the VIN and got a build sheet that told me the date.

Weekend hangovers, people got shuffled to jobs they never worked just to make numbers - Friday, day after pay day, my kids made a fortune picking up beer cans Saturday.

Yeah it's ugly I would like to see Ford copy Honda's trunk in bed feature.

Is building a truck really a one day process?

Those heavier trucks don't sell many. Chevrolet counts Silverados Ford counts F Series. If you count just 1/2 , 3/4 man 1 tons, the results are the same.

It takes about 20 hours to build an F150. Ford rolls out about 50 trucks a hour.

It looks like it's got a drain plug and cup holders on the corners. So I'm thinking it's a yeti trunk

Chevrolet trucks are wildly popular in Pittsburgh and western PA.....which isn't the south.

Duramax-powered one ton trucks with dumper beds seem to be standard issue for people who run snow plow businesses out here.

Why is this?

I can't answer for everyone else, but I prefer Chevrolet trucks because I've had excellent experience with them in the past. Their trucks have been flawless for me. I only really consider Chevrolet, GMC, or Toyota acceptable for new trucks. Oddly enough, Toyota trucks seem to have rust and corrosion problems with the salt-spray on the winter roads up here though.
