The 6.7 was a new, ground-up, design by Ford. The first year for this was 2011.
It appears that failures like mine are incredibly rare and certainly the fact that it happened during an oil change raises an eyebrow.
You have valid points about diesels in general. For me personally, I didn't want a gas engine in a 3/4 ton truck.

Yeah, that was the latest.
Got a Tahoe for a rental. The seats suck for lumbar support.

Ford wins comfort by a long ways IMO.
My Chevy rides like a log truck unless you have 1000lbs in the bed.

Drive my truck for 10 minutes and get back to me. It literally rides like a dump truck.

My Z71 apparently has a bump magnifier.

Yep. All of my buddies GM trucks are pretty rough.

If someone would make another heavy 1/2 ton(other than Nissan) I'd buy it.

Ram rear coil springs FTW.

I agree, I haven't ridden in many F150's, but even the 03-04 were like sitting on a hard beach ball in the front passenger seat - uncomfortable ain't the word. Now my 94 and 04 GM buckets...
I drove a 2015 F150 not too long ago and it's nice, but way too many gadgets for me. Hell I'm contemplating buying a '92 IDI 7.3 currently. TAlk about uncomfortable.

To those of you in newer trucks, what has GM done as far as music/phone tech is concerned? On my 07, if no OnStar(dumbest concept ever), no tech. Is there something like Ford's Sync now?
Posted on 1/12/16 at 11:18 am to AlxTgr
My 2015 syncs to my iPhone and utilizes Bluetooth for texts, calls. No need for Onstar if you don't want it. Truck has all sorts of magic shite. I'm not necessarily sold on all of it, but it's there if that's your thing.

Maybe I'm used to trucks riding rough, but mine isn't bad

It's got blue tooth connectivity for hands free calling, playing music from the phone or use XM radio. It has regular radio too, but doesn't have a CD player so you have to learn new tricks to play your own music.
SIRI, or whoever is in there controlling things, hates my yat accent. I have to make an effort to speak correctly or all I get is "Pardon?", "Pardon?", "Gooodbye!".

he diesels these days are good. I couldn't buy a Chevy diesel just because of the urea tank hanging down behind the passenger side wheel well. Who the hell decided that was the best place to put it??????
They better be great for the price one pays for the diesel.
Anybody with later model trucks having issues with the emission systems on the new diesel trucks? I've heard several horror stories that concern me about the maintenance cost on newer diesels. I'm just trying to decide if it's as bad as it sounds.

My 2500 has all that shite plus the CD player. Sometimes I think it has too many features.
