Long story short, was squirrel hunting when saw something that looked like a squirrel fall out of a tree about 75yds away. Walked over to investigate, and a rat snake had caught a squirrel in the tree and they both fell out in the commotion and the snake was still in the process of trying to kill the squirrel to eat it. That's something you don't see everyday. Bad day for both of them.

I would have backed up and shot them both from 20 yards away.

You got the squirrel, right?

Yep. Black snake was way up in a pecan tree and fell out probably 30 or 40 feet to the ground.

Typically, I would say, let them be and let nature take its course.

But, on the other hand, that would make one hell of a mount for an office book shelf.

I was squirrel hunting when I was 15 or so. Shot a squirrel out of a tree. Waited a few minutes before going to retrieve it as I was trying to shoot another. When I finally went to pick up the squirrel, I reached down almost grabbing it by it's tail when I saw a rattlesnake that already taken claim to it. Almost shite my pants or had a heart attack, maybe both. Shot at the snake twice before hitting it with the third shot. All with a shotgun...haha

No, but a bat in a palm tree (and then during the struggle, the snake fell onto the driveway).

Never saw that but I was fishing once and a squirrel was sitting on a log hanging over the pond eating an acorn when a HUGE bass jumped out of the water, engulfed that squirrel and it disappeared down the bass's throat. Tree was shaking like someone had hit it with a sledge hammer....acorn went flying. I was dumfounded....it was a one in a million encounter, if that.

About 30 minutes later, still fishing near that tree, that dam bass jumped out of the water under that log and placed an acorn right back in the same spot.....
