Sounds like someone who was likely fast tracked up the ranks because she's a woman. Especially when you consider her proximity to the Biden admin. DEI is a sickening religion, absolutely demented.
Some of the Army posters on r/Army were saying that she was a DMG

What are you talking about?
That doesn't even make sense and is quite a terrible comparison.
We've already had a handful of incompetence Naval captains that are female get demoted after being promoted for being female lol.
You're so horribly naive.
There's no doubt that DEI hires have been wrongfully promoted. There's also no evidence that THIS woman was one of those, outside of "well she's a woman so she MUST be DEI." In fact, her resume seems to prove the opposite.
Your response of "how do you know qualified men weren't passed over for her" is exactly analogous to a prog assuming qualified minorities were passed over to hire a white person due to discrimination. It's totally unprovable so it's not even worth addressing.

this board was smacking its lips to find out if it was 1) a trans person or 2) a woman.
Not everybody but a lot of posters were.
Anyone who denies that is a complete liar.

except she was qualified.
quit hiding behind DEI and just say what you really want to say about women. would we be having this discussion if it was yet another male pilot who crashed a plane? you wouldnt bother to look at their prior academic history to determine whether theyre qualified or not but want to nitpick her?
" She achieved the rank of Captain, having twice served as a Platoon Leader and as a Company Executive Officer in the 12th Aviation Battalion, Davison Army Airfield, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. With more than 450 hours of flight time, she earned certification as a pilot-in-command after extensive testing by the most senior and experienced pilots in her battalion."

There are a lot of people who turn out to not be good at being pilots. You can't find out until they begin flying. This woman appeared to earn every bit of her opportunity and with 500+ hours clearly wasn't a bad pilot. She would have been reassigned long before that if she wasn't any good.
You honestly think someone that close to the Biden admin would get demoted that easy?
There's nothing about her resume that suggests she was good at flying.
Completing ROTC drills and academic courses does not tell me anything about instincts in the air or situational awareness.
ROTC is certainly watered down for women its probably even worse now than it's ever been. You can thank your people for that.
When I hear ROTC I just assume it's people who want to throw something on to their resume like Eagle scouts.
Maybe at one time it was impressive but it's nothing more than a Mcdonald drive thru resume builder at this point.

Is it pretty normal for a non-military academy non combat vet soldier to make captain at 28?
Yes. With time in grade requirements, you can make Captain in 3.5 years.

So any woman who joined the military while Biden was President is automatically a DEI hire?

When you change the qualifications to match your desired applicant pool, qualifications mean much less.

During Trump's Presidency?
Thanks Trump.

Compared to who? Show me the other resumes. You have absolutely no one else to compare with.
Flying training is literally like baseline expectation.
And remember, this woman just killed 2 soldiers and an entire plane of civilians on a routine training flight.
Clearly EXTREMELY unqualified and utterly incompetent. A disgrace in fact.
American civilians died.
Is anyone of you defending this girl going to acknowledge she played probably the largest role in the deaths of 60+ people?
Why is this being ignored?
Heroes don't kill innocent people.

Trump never said the pilot was a DEI hire. He was referring to the idiot DEI policy in hiring air traffic controllers. Many competent and qualified people were not hired even though there is a shortage simply because they were white.

You seriously need help.
A better american than the people on here, yet you don't even know her. Why is she better? Because she was tied to the waist to the Biden Admin? Because she was in the Military? Based upon what the Military has been bringing in, it means nothing. The truth is her incompetence killed 68 other individuals....and you are celebrating her. I pray for her family, and for the other victims families.....but doesn't mean she should have been in her role.

I agree with this, but that's not what the luddites here were saying over the last few days.

No doubt she made an impact on many lives.

I don’t how you could defend someone who singlehandedly killed 66 people. Her family has balls for putting out that statement in defense of her.
Because sometimes accidents do happen. She’s dead and that crew ended up paying for their mistake. I said night one it was a mishap, pilot error ( a military/aviation term used when there is death ) and I had some poster go off on me. Everything in pilot and maintenance manuals are written in blood because of mistakes made.
