You spent most of your response beating the ever loving shite out of a straw dog!
I guess you didn’t read my “actual take” on the war and would rather argue against what you wished I believe?!
Now for your actual responsive response.
True!
But let’s put some perspective on this.
Since the war began, the Biden administration and the U.S. Congress have directed more than $75 billion in assistance to Ukraine, which includes humanitarian, financial, and military support. That’s a huge amount! And it adds directly to our debt. But it’s not as inflationary for the US as you contend. Economics 101; inflation is caused by too much money chasing too few goods or services. The money to Ukraine leaves America so it doesn’t contribute to the “too much money” side of the equation. (It is inflationary to Ukraine!) And since we are manufacturing replacement military goods, it also doesn’t contribute to the “too few goods” side.
Now inflation is here! What caused it? Well Congress appropriated 4.6 TRILLION for Covid. A trillion equals 1000 billion. Therefore 4600/75= 61.333. So Covid was 61 times larger to the debt, and even worse for inflation. Most of that CREATED money stayed here, and a great deal paid Americans NOT to work creating fewer goods and services.
And Republicans helped Democrats pass a 1.7 TRILLION budget! More inflation.
True again!
Let’s jump in:
WSJ: “ The war in Ukraine has depleted American stocks of some types of ammunition and the Pentagon has been slow to replenish its arsenal, sparking concerns among U.S. officials that American military readiness could be jeopardized by the shortage.”
What are we short of and how much?
Politico: “ The Pentagon is rushing to replace thousands of U.S.-made Javelin and Stinger missiles pulled from European and American stockpiles for use in Ukraine.”
Stingers and javelins are infantry anti air and armor weapons. Who is our number 1 potential enemy with significant air and armor?
Russia!
And we are killing Russia air and armor with Ukrainian infantry! Good!
The only other threat is N Korea, and our air (fixed and rotor) will massacre them with the aid of S Korea. Now think like Kim the Fat. Russia with more supplies and newer weapons is getting its arse kicked. And IF, and that’s a big if, Russia loses, do you want to take a southern vacation?
True again.
Who are the “other wonderful countries”?
1- Russia
2- N Korea
3- Iran
4- small fry: Cuba, Venezuela etc.
5- Potential countries reacting to perceived American weakness like Saudi Arabia. See Biden’s F up in Afghanistan! This gets worse with a Russian victory! But a Russian defeat would improve it.
The establishment anti Trump was unnecessary. The GOP senators that passed the Democrats bloated budget was unnecessary, and frankly supporting a dangerous anti American Russia, over your admitted who-gives-a-shite Ukraine is unnecessary!
I think I have proven this contention false.
But, by not supporting Ukraine you are supporting an even more corrupt and anti American Russia and their anti American allies like China!
This is so unnecessary. And I contend your main issue is the GOP establishment and Democrats support it! I get it! They suck, and 99% of the time you would be right.
But even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.

The reality is your life wasn’t impacted one frickin bit by Russia’ invasion of crimea. And your life was not impacted in the slightest by the ongoing fight in Ukraine that has been going on since that time.
I guess you didn’t read my “actual take” on the war and would rather argue against what you wished I believe?!

I mean I would prefer for an anti-American Russia to be humbled, and I think the Ukrainians are the victims of an aggressor in Putin, but if the Ukrainians get F’ed I won’t lose sleep over it!
Now for your actual responsive response.

But your life has been impacted by OUR decision to fight a proxy war in Ukraine. The impact of inflation
True!

Of course its not. This Ukraine war is magic, and doesn't affect things like supply chain and inflation..
Wait, werent you fruits already blaming the war for inflation?

Well Rog, you have a reading comprehension problem.
I suspect your almost instant and knee-jerk response means you actually didn’t read my post!
I suggest you actually read it.
I told you what mostly caused our inflation. Making up BS dollars out of thin air and throwing them into OUR economy for Covid, welfare, and government kickbacks, and by reducing goods and services by increasing Covid stay at home payments and welfare.
The Ukrainian war is not magic, but I am surprised how poorly the Russians are doing, and how great their costs are so far.
Now for why sending money to Ukraine is not as American inflationary as one might think, go back and read my economics 101 explanation. If you still don’t understand, get someone to explain it to you at your appropriate education level.
And finally here’s a bone for you.
Argue the impact on the American debt, not inflation, of the expense of our aid to Ukraine! Hint: it’s NOT GOOD!

he war in Ukraine has gutted Russia’s clandestine spetsnaz forces, and it will take Moscow years to rebuild them, according to classified U.S. assessments obtained by The Washington Post.

The rapid depletion of Russia’s commando units, observers say, shifted the war’s dynamic from the outset, severely limiting Moscow’s ability to employ clandestine tactics in support of conventional combat operations. U.S. officials believe that the staggering casualties these units have sustained will render them less effective, not only in Ukraine but also in other parts of the world where Russian forces operate, according to the assessments, which range in date from late 2022 to earlier this year.

On Reddit they’re claiming the Russians hacked the reports and switched casualty figures. Seriously.
They didn’t hack it. They crudely copied and pasted over it. Only the flat earth society here refused to recognize it. If the figures were 7 to 1, Russia would have been in Kiev yesterday. For the record, OP is already backtrackign on the OT thread and saying he didn't *actually* believe the 7:1 figure, but just wanted to "start a conversation."

The more interesting fact was his comments about American troops on the ground in Ukraine. Which I don’t doubt but seriously when does this clown show end? When WWIII starts?

100%, we have forces on the ground in Ukraine.
It comes with the money and weapons. We call them "consultants" but its special forces and CIA.
