Can I just make a general observation from my experience with the public the last 6 or 7 months? I currently work in the restaurant industry. Since that time ToGo business has been huge. From my personal experience, the black community is incredibly ignorant when it comes to smoking weed in the damn car. It’s mind numbing the amount of cars you approach that just reek of weed smoke or just don’t give two shits about smoking a blunt in the parking lot waiting on food. So when I read this story it makes sense to me. If you smoke yourself retarded in your car on a regular basis, you’re going to get searched for the smell alone.

Bill Burr’s got a pretty good bit on black people and lotion that ends with a similar observation.

High crime areas are more heavily patrolled than low crime areas. Just depends on the demographics in those areas as to who is getting pulled over more often. Whenever I get behind a vehicle at night I can't tell you if it's a white person or black person.

It makes sense that the demographic that commits the most crimes per capita is searched more frequently.
Also, what are the stats for a clean-cut black guy in a suit being searched vs a white methhead in dirty, torn clothes?
What are the stats for people that give the cop attitude vs those that are polite and respectful?
Maybe it has more to do with how the individual looks and acts instead of just his skin color.

Why are they being pulled over? Is it because the driver and/or vehicle happens to match the description of someone they are looking for?

This is definitely a big reason why they’re searched more when pulled over but a lot of the time they’re pulled over for bogus reasons too. I think the bigger issue is having cops hit ticket quotas because that effects everyone not just black people.

Ok, let’s just assume for a moment they are pulled over more for bogus reasons. Why in the hell then would you make it so damn easy for the cops by riding around in a car that you can smell the weed from 10 or 15 feet away? It’s a very recognizable scent. So you get pulled over for a bogus reason but as soon as the cop walks up to the window, he now has a legitimate reason to search the car

I agree but I know a lot of young kids (mostly white) that do it too but never get caught because they weren’t pulled over for bogus reasons. Also more likely for police to do those things in more urban areas so that’s part of it too. I don’t think it hurts for us to acknowledge there should be some change as far as how policing goes is all I’m saying.

These people truly live in their own reality
Considering another black male will kill another black male for simply wearing the wrong colors, it probably one of the safer environments for black males to be pulled over by the police.

More conjured up nonsense that is predicated on the individual seeing their race as the reason for anything bad that happens to them...
