Why would I vote for someone who can't be honest with who they really are and their constituents in 2018? Tell me.

Defensive tackle. Saban’s LBs are sleeker than that.

His post is admonishing Patricia Todd for publicly outing her. And it is accurate. I've lost some respect I had for Todd. I'm sure she'll apologize, but the damage is done.

Or maybe she can come out of the closet and tell the truth? It is 2018 after all. Why is this so hard?

You are asking a lot of a politician... Do you hold all politicians to the same "honesty" standard? Or just the one's that are closet homosexuals?

Probably because it’s nobody’s business what her sexual orientation is if her policy is what they align with? Like you said, it’s 2018, nobody really cares one way or the other. Give it a rest, this isn’t 1962.

Her own policy doesn't align with her political policy which is the issue here. Can you see how this would be a problem? Just like the many Closeted Homosexual Republicans who vote against Gay Rights? Can you see the issue(s) with this?

I love that our standard is now “At least she hasn’t screwed up.” I guess that happens when 3 out of the last 6 governors have been sent to jail.

Who said it was the standard? I was specifically responding to the other poster who said she has fricked up everything.

What's your criticism of Ivey?

Not surprising at all.

First off, I don’t care what her own policy is. Her job is to do the policy of her constituents.

Secondly, this is a massive broach of privacy. It’s a pretty slippery slope you’re fine with going down.

"Well, she hasn't screwed anything up." That's been the collective response by a lot of people. Ivey has done a good job of piggy backing on economic development news that was already in the pipeline and getting good photo ops. Her actual record before Governor isn't that great. She royally messed up the PACT program as treasurer.

And I don't care if it's good strategy or not, I don't like it when a politician retreats into a bubble and doesn't try to earn the job. Pretty insulting when she says she has better things to do than debate her opponents and ends up throwing the first pitch at a minor league game only miles away. The last thing Alabama needs is another Governor that thinks they are invincible.

Honestly, the Lesbian rumors don't bother me as much as the accounts of her being a belligerent drunk.

The Alabama electorate itself is a good argument against mass suffrage. We have a bunch of chucklefricks who will vote for Ivey based on name recognition and her folksy commercials, literally all of which contain NOTHING about policy. Good Lord.

Well in Ivey's somewhat defense, very few Alabama politicians put any policy positions in their TV ads. It's all "I go to church", "I shoot a gun", "liberal bogeyman", blah, blah, blah.
